Ammunition storage and feeding system for light weapons that facilitates a continuous loading of the weapon, thereby relieving the user from multiple magazine replacements, and reducing potential weapon stoppages, thus providing more reliable and significantly uninterruptable use of the weapon with respect to operating the weapon with conventional magazines. According to an embodiment of the invention, the system is configured to automatically receive interlinked cartridges from a carrying device (e.g., a backpack or other convenient device harnessed to the user's body) through a flexible or semi-flexible leading means, to successively extract the cartridges from the linking arrangement and to successively feed each extracted cartridge into a dedicated magazine in a First In First Out (FIFO) manner.

A pistol device includes a handgrip portion having a grip body defining an accommodation space, a snap hole extending through a front side of the grip body, and two positioning holes extending through left and right sides of the grip body. The snap and positioning holes communicate with the accommodation space. A magazine base is detachably disposed on a bottom end of the handgrip portion, and includes a surrounding wall, a snap block detachably engageable with the snap hole, and a connecting portion connected to the surrounding wall and having at least one pin hole extending therethrough. A magazine is provided for a firearm. The magazine comprises a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has a user interface adapted to enable a user to select between a locked condition and an unlocked condition. The locking mechanism has a rotor movable between a first rotational position when the locking mechanism is in the locked condition and a second rotational position when the locking mechanism is in the unlocked condition. The magazine comprises an elongated shaft connected to the rotor. The magazine comprises a block element connected to the elongated shaft. The block element is adapted to move between a first position when the locking mechanism is in the locked condition in which at least one of firearm operation and magazine extraction are prevented, and a second position when the locking mechanism is in the unlocked condition in which firearm operation and magazine extraction are enabled.

A shotgun has right and left magazines from which ammunition may be fed to the action using a selector mounted on a movable fore-end chassis whose motion cycles the action. An interrupter prevents the selector from switching between magazines unless the action is in battery with the fore-end chassis fully forward toward the muzzle end of the shotgun. Respective right and left outer cut-offs on the magazines cooperate with an inner cut-off to ensure proper coordination of ammunition feed as the action is cycled by motion of the fore-end chassis. The outer cut-offs are also manually operable to permit removal of ammunition from the magazines without cycling the action.

A location-based gun magazine has a housing having a plurality of locking apertures, a spring, a wireless receiver switching device, a battery, and an electromagnet locking mechanism. The electromagnet locking mechanism has a locking tab for engaging and locking with the plurality of locking apertures, the locking tab actuatable via the electromagnet, the electromagnet receiving a signal from the wireless receiver switching device. The wireless receiver switching device may have a radio receiver, a GPS chip, or other device for receiving location-based information.
