Firearm safety mechanisms, visual safety indicators, and related techniques
The techniques described herein relate to methods and apparatus for firearm safety mechanisms, visual safety indicators, and related techniques. A firearm includes a handle comprising one or more buttons disposed at least partially within a surface of the handle, such that the one or more buttons can be in contact with an operator's hand when the operator grasps the handle; a safety mechanism in mechanical communication with the trigger. The safety mechanism comprises: a first position that blocks actuation of the trigger; and a second position that does not block actuation of the trigger; and at least one processor configured to: upon determining an input code matches a stored code, transmits a signal to the safety mechanism to change the safety mechanism from the first position to the second position so that the firearm can be fired by the operator.

Tracker for firearm
A tracker for a firearm comprises a device capable of being secured to a Picatinny® rail of a firearm. The device is in wireless communication with a smart electronic device thereby alerting a user of when the firearm has been moved. The device also comes with an audio alert which issues forth a high decibel and painful sound to dissuade unauthorized use.

SAFETY DEVICE FOR WEAPONS, DRIVE MECHANISM AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SAID SAFETY DEVICE
A reliable and robust electromechanical safety device maximises the security of a weapon by preventing accidental firing situations. The safety device includes a safety element for connecting or disconnecting a kinematic shooting chain; the safety element is arrangeable inside the weapon at its rear part, connecting with the trigger bar and the backstrap of the weapon. Therefore, by controlling the position of the trigger bar, it is possible to control the safe and firing position of the weapon, in addition to, and independent of, the other original weapon safeties.

WIRELESS MAT FOR FIREARMS AND VALUABLES AND METHOD OF ALERTING A USER
A system for alerting a user to unauthorized movement of an object has a mat that is embedded with a first wireless transceiver (e.g., NFC transceiver) and a second wireless transceiver (e.g., Wi-Fi® transceiver). An object, such as a firearm, has a wireless tag (e.g., NFC tag) coupled thereto for communication with the first wireless transceiver of the mat. When the object is moved, the first wireless transceiver loses connection with the wireless tag. When communication is lost, the second wireless transceiver transmits an alert to a user that the object has been moved.
DIGITAL RECORDING OF FIREARM IDENTIFICATION
Digital Recording is provided using SWO technology wherein a microprocessor is located in a pistol and a single wire EEPROM is mounted on each cartridge used by the pistol. Power and data can be sent over a single wire from the microprocessor to the single wire EEPROM to communicate information about the pistol, such as the serial number, make, and model of the firearm.

Safety system for preventing mass shootings by Smart guns
A smart gun communicating over a communication network. Wherein, the smart gun includes a triggering mechanism in order to lock/unlock the trigger for preventing/allow the gun to fire bullets, wherein the triggering mechanism is based on the information received from the GPS or the camera installed in the smart gun. Further, the safety system sends a message and/or GPS location of the smart gun over the communication network to the one or more concern authorities (i.e. law enforcement agency and/or the authorized user) in case the safety system detects any tamper to the safety gun.
