The sleeve portion includes a proximal sleeve portion, a distal sleeve portion, a proximal end surface, an outer side surface, and a distal end surface. The sleeve portion defines an implement-receiving cavity that extends axially into the proximal end surface. The proximal end surface and a proximal portion of the outer side surface define a handle portion of the sleeve portion. The distal end surface and a distal portion of the outer side surface define a distal sleeve portion having an adapter-interfacing body of the sleeve portion. The adapter portion includes the other of the fastener and the fastener-receiving passage. The adapter portion defines an adapter body. The weapon is defined by the adapter body and the adapter-interfacing body.

The invention provides a ring for use in self-defense including a base with a band that is worn on a finger of a user, a blade fixed to the outer circumference of the band, wherein the blade protrudes from the outer circumference of the band, a base connecting mechanism joined to a portion of the blade that is fixed to the outer circumference of the band, and a ring top comprising a top connecting mechanism, and an ornamental top, wherein the top connecting mechanism is joined to a portion of the ornamental top.

A hand weapon which is intended to control combative individuals with minimal injury. The hand weapon generally made from a cudgel with a hand grip portion, a first abutment surface on one end of the hand grip portion, a first striking end portion, and a first stop surface between the first abutment surface and the first striking end. The first striking end portion is in the form of an outwardly extending generally cylindrical portion with a completely rounded generally hemispherical tip. In select embodiments, the hand weapon is made from a hardened material. In other select embodiments, the hand weapon includes a holster.

A protective device and a method of transmitting an alert from the device, in which the protective device is handheld and includes a flexible sheath disposed between an upper member and a lower member. When the device is compressed, elongated defensive components protrude through openings in the upper member. In some cases, the upper member also includes protruding portions extending upward from the upper member and/or an arm portion extending outward to a side of the device. A signal alert may be automatically transmitted upon device compression.

An electronic torch is disclosed which includes at least one light emitting diode disposed in each one of a plurality of sections of the electronic torch. In one embodiment, each one of the plurality of sections of the electronic torch is independently selectable to activate the at least one light emitting diode disposed in each one of the plurality of sections of the electronic torch. In another embodiment, a mobile device may be connected to the electronic torch and provide instructions to the torch via a wired or wireless connection.
