Firearm buffers as well as methods of assembling same

A firearm buffer includes a buffer casing having a casing chamber with open and closed ends, and buffer weight within the casing chamber. A buffer plug is received in the open end of the buffer casing. A cross pin extends through at least a portion of the buffer plug retaining the buffer plug on the buffer casing. A locking pin is longitudinally displaceable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the locking pin is engaged with the cross pin and retains the cross pin in position with respect to the buffer plug. In the second position, the locking pin is disengaged from the cross pin such that the cross pin is removable from engagement with the buffer plug thereby permitting disassembly of the firearm buffer. A method of assembling a firearm buffer is also included.

VARIABLE PORT MULTI-PISTON GAS-DELAYED BLOWBACK SYSTEM FOR FIREARM
20210116190 · 2021-04-22 ·

A gas-delayed blowback system for a firearm preferably includes a receiver, a barrel and a spring-loaded moveable slide. The barrel is ported to at least two gas compression chambers into which expanding propellant gases flow after the firearm is fired. The gas compression chambers and ports vary in volume such that propellant gas pressure increases rapidly in one of the chambers, thereby locking the slide upon firing. Pressure in the other gas compression chambers increases and decreases at a slower rate due to a smaller port size, further delaying rearward travel of the slide after the bullet exits the barrel and barrel pressure is relieved. As a result, unlocking of the firearm is sufficiently delayed and felt recoil is reduced due to redistribution of propellant gas pressure, thereby accommodating modern high-pressure ammunition rounds.

Firearm configuration for reducing recoil
10935334 · 2021-03-02 · ·

Disclosed is a firearm configuration for a handgun. The firearm configuration is designed to reduce the recoil forces encountered by a user upon firing the weapon. It further includes a recoil plate that absorbs forces generated by the slide during firing. Recoil forces are reduced by lowering the firearm's center of mass and by aligning a recoiling mass with the user's arm and trigger finger. The firearm configuration further includes a locking block which prevents rotational and lateral movement of the barrel upon firing.
