INTERCHANGEABLE GRIP FOR A FIREARM
20220364823 · 2022-11-17 ·

Methods, systems, and apparatuses for interchangeable, customizable, and suitable grips for firearms are described. In some embodiments, the grip includes two components, a grip base piece and an interchangeable grip (e.g., an interchangeable grip attachment) of the firearm user's choice. The grip base piece attaches to the lower receiver held by a pistol grip screw and a lock washer. In some examples, the grip base piece may only be installed once, for example, initially prior to implementation of interchangeable grips (e.g., the grip base piece may not require any other attention or installation changes after the initial placement onto the lower receiver). Following the installation of the grip base piece on the lower receiver, interchangeable grips of users' choice may be connected to the grip base piece (e.g., and interchanged with other interchangeable grips) via utilizing a grip interface (e.g., a T-shaped mating tab of the interchangeable grip).

Skeletonized grip for an automatic rifle having interchangeable grip panels
09777984 · 2017-10-03 ·

A grip for an AR-10 and AR-15 automatic rifle comprises a skeletonized frame that mates with the receiver of the automatic rifle. The skeletonized frame includes a plurality of frame members that interconnect at angles to reinforce the structural integrity of the frame. The skeletonized frame comprises an open area. The open area stores items pertinent to operation of the automatic rifle. The frame is also configured to receive multiple interchangeable grip panels for altering the visual and functional aspects of the grip. The interchangeable grip panels detachably recess into an appropriate section of the frame, such that their edges are protected from damage from inadvertent impact and abrasion. For example, the grip panels provide a texture that helps cushion the palm of the hand, or accommodate left hands and/or right hands. The panels align through an alignment pin that passes through the opening of the frame.

Recoil-inhibiting grips for firearms

Disclosed are recoil-inhibiting grips for handguns that minimize recoil without sacrificing aiming accuracy. The grips may provide both recoil inhibition and grip stability by incorporating a vibration-damping elastomeric strategically positioned in only the back surface of a handgun grip (e.g., facing the palm). The elastomeric insert may be incorporated in the top section of the rear surface of the grip, where the bulk of the recoil force meets the user's palm.
