A gas regulator for a rifle, having: an elongated member having a first end and a second end; a head portion located at the first end; a pair of openings passing through the elongated member, wherein one of the pair of openings is larger than the other one of the pair of openings; a recessed area located at the second end; and a pair of detent openings located on a portion of the elongated member, the pair of detent openings being spaced from each other and located within another recessed area located on a surface of the elongated member between the first end and the second end, wherein one of the pair of detent openings is closer to the first end than the other one of the pair of detent openings.

A gas regulator for a rifle, having: an elongated member having a first end and a second end; a head portion located at the first end; a pair of openings passing through the elongated member, wherein one of the pair of openings is larger than the other one of the pair of openings; a recessed area located at the second end; and a pair of detent openings located on a portion of the elongated member, the pair of detent openings being spaced from each other and located within another recessed area located on a surface of the elongated member between the first end and the second end, wherein one of the pair of detent openings is closer to the first end than the other one of the pair of detent openings.

An alignment aid that includes a surface that defines a plane. First, second, and third references are aligned along a first axis of the surface, wherein each reference has a length along the first axis and a width along a second axis orthogonal to the first axis. A distance is between adjacent references along the first axis. Each reference includes a first alignment feature adjacent to a second alignment feature. Each first alignment feature has a first alignment feature elevation orthogonal to the first and second axes. Each second alignment feature has a second alignment feature elevation orthogonal to the first and second axes. For each reference, the first alignment feature elevation is higher than the second alignment feature elevation.

An alignment aid that includes a surface that defines a plane. Disclosed herein are embodiments of a sighting device, and methods of making and using such a sighting device, whereby the sighting device comprises a chamber coupled to the sighting device; and a light-emitting element contained within the chamber; wherein the chamber contains only non-radioactive material; and wherein the light-emitting element emits a first amount of visible light to provide a viewable aiming indicium in low light conditions.

A combined reflex and laser sighting device with co-aligned iron sights is provided. In one aspect, the laser elements are co-aligned with each other, the reflex sight is co-aligned with the laser elements, and the iron sights are then co-aligned with the reflex sight and lasers, such that both the reflex sight, laser sight, and iron sights can all be calibrated or boresighted to a weapon together in a single operation. In another aspect, one or more laser elements are mounted to a laser bench and aligned with a reflex sight and iron sights attached to the laser bench. In yet another aspect, a plurality of laser elements are provided on the laser bench and are co-aligned with each other, the reflex sight, and the iron sights. In yet another aspect, an elevation adjustment apparatus for a laser sight includes selectable primary and secondary adjustment assemblies.

A combined reflex and laser sighting device with co-aligned iron sights is provided. In one aspect, the laser elements are co-aligned with each other, the reflex sight is co-aligned with the laser elements, and the iron sights are then co-aligned with the reflex sight and lasers, such that both the reflex sight, laser sight, and iron sights can all be calibrated or boresighted to a weapon together in a single operation. In another aspect, one or more laser elements are mounted to a laser bench and aligned with a reflex sight and iron sights attached to the laser bench. In yet another aspect, a plurality of laser elements are provided on the laser bench and are co-aligned with each other, the reflex sight, and the iron sights. In yet another aspect, an elevation adjustment apparatus for a laser sight includes selectable primary and secondary adjustment assemblies.

A visual aid device for an elongate item of equipment (100) intended, in use, to be launched or to launch a projectile at a target region, whereby a user performs an aiming process with said item of equipment by looking along the length thereof from a proximal end to its opposing distal end and directing said distal end in respect of said target region, said visual aid device comprising a contrasting region or member (120, 120a, 120b) located on said item of equipment nearer to said distal end than the proximal end thereof, and being positioned thereon and configured such that it is only fully visible in the peripheral vision of one of the user's eyes during a said aiming process.

A sighting system for use with firearms, including an LED light, a power source for powering the LED light, a circuit that receives current from the power source and provides current to the LED light, wherein the current provided to the LED light is lower than 1% of a minimum forward current listed for the LED light by the LED light manufacturer and responsive to the current the LED light provides light that is visible at least in a dark environment, a housing for encasing the LED light, power source and circuit to act as an independent unit; wherein the housing is designed to be retrofit entirely on top of the firearm, so that in dim light a user is guided by light from the LED light to align the firearm toward a target.
