Methods and Apparatus for a Conducted Electrical Weapon
A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) launches wire-tethered electrodes from multiple cartridges to provide a current through a human or animal target to impede locomotion of the target. The CEW may detect when the electrodes launched from the cartridges may provide the current through more than one target. The CEW may detect when electrodes launched from the cartridges may provide the current through the same target. The CEW may set the pulse rate of the current based on detecting the launch of electrodes from more than one cartridge, detecting that electrodes may provide the current through two or more targets, and/or detecting that two or more pairs of electrodes may deliver the current through the same target.
COUNTER DRONE DEVICE, AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
A counter drone device adapted to render propellers of drones inoperable. The counter drone device may be a weighted filament adapted to be projecting into the propeller of a drone so as to entangle/ensnare/wrap around propeller shaft and/or blades, rendering the drone inoperable.
Entangling Projectiles and Systems for thier Use
An entangling projectile for use in a projectile deployment system includes a pair of pellets and a flexible tether connecting the pellets. Each of the pellets includes an outer diameter and at least one recessed portion extending inwardly from the outer diameter, the recessed portion having an inner diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the pellet such that a pocket is formed in the pellet. The pocket provides an area for accumulation of debris and gasses carried by a pressure wave created by the projectile deployment system. One or more engagement hooks can be coupled to one or both the pellets, or to the tether.
INTERDICTION AND RECOVERY FOR SMALL UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS
Apparatuses, systems, and methods are disclosed for drone interdiction. A projectile is capable of being launched to intercept a drone. The projectile may include a set of tethers that deploy from the projectile for securing the drone. The projectile may include a recovery device that deploys from the projectile for controlling a descent of the drone.
LIDAR SITE MODEL TO AID COUNTER DRONE SYSTEM
A system for creating a three dimensional model of an environment includes a LIDAR scanning system to scan an environment to provide an image of a scene of the scanned environment, a geo-locator to tag a plurality of points within the image with geo-reference points and a labeler to label features of interest within the image of the scene and to identify possible access paths within the three dimensional model of the environment from the features of interest potentially providing an access path for a target drone.
Seal-carrying entangling projectiles and systems for their use
An entangling projectile includes a pair of pellets and a tether connecting the pellets. The pellets each have a head portion and a tail portion. At least one gasket is carried by the head portion of at least one of the pellets. The gasket is operable to provide a sealed interface between the head portion of the at least one pellet and a socket within which the at least one pellet is fired from a launcher.
RECOIL ELIMINATION
An ejection assembly for ejecting an ejection body comprises an ejection channel and an anti-recoil channel; a barrier structure having a first interface boundary and a second interface boundary, including a barrier portion between the first interface boundary and the second interface boundaries; an attachment mechanism for fastening the barrier structure between the ejection channel and the anti-recoil channel; an ejection activation mechanism housed within the barrier structure adjacent the first interface boundary, to initiate ignition of ejection propulsion material contained in an ejection capsule placed adjacent the first interface boundary; and an anti-recoil activation mechanism housed within the barrier structure adjacent the second interface boundary, to initiate the ignition of anti-recoil propulsion material contained in an ejection capsule placed adjacent the second interface boundary.
Systems and methods for providing information to users of hand-held weaponry
A system for alerting a user to a state of a weapon includes a safety assembly, operably coupled to the weapon and operable to selectively render the weapon into either a safe mode or a firing mode. A motor is carried by the weapon and is operably coupled to the safety assembly so as to be engaged when the weapon is in the firing mode. The motor is operable to impart vibratory motion to the weapon of sufficient magnitude that a wielder of the weapon can tactilely sense the vibratory motion without visually inspecting the weapon to thereby sense that the weapon is in the firing mode without visually inspecting the weapon.
Protective Coverings and Related Methods for Entangling Projectiles
A grappling assembly for use with an entangling projectile includes at least one hook including an apex portion and a sharpened prong extending distally from the apex portion. A protective cover is positioned adjacent the apex portion of the at least one hook, the protective cover including at least one substantially planar surface. The sharpened prong of the at least one hook extends distally from the protective cover and thereby remaining exposed while the protective cover is positioned adjacent the apex portion of the at least one hook. The at least one hook and the protective cover are formed as an integral unit, or as a continuous, solid piece.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROVIDING A PROJECTILE MODULE HAVING A NET WITH A DRAWSTRING
A projectile cartridge that can be removably attached to a flying vehicle is disclosed. A system can include a first flying vehicle, a projectile attachment mechanism configured with the first flying vehicle, a projectile cartridge that contains a projectile, the projectile cartridge being removably attachable to the projectile attachment mechanism, a weight attached to the projectile, the weight being configured in a releasable configuration in the projectile cartridge and a drawstring configured with the projectile. After firing the projectile, when tension is applied to the drawstring as the projectile approaches or envelops a second flying vehicle, the tension can cause the drawstring to close the projectile down to secure the second flying vehicle.
