BURST MODE COOLING SYSTEM
Disclosed are systems and methods of rapidly cooling thermal loads by providing a burst mode cooling system for rapid cooling. The burst mode cooling system may include a complex compound sorber configured to rapidly absorb ammonia.
Air Space and Ground Attack System
An air space and ground attack system includes a neutron beam generator operable to emit neutron beamlets from a radioactive neutron source. A plurality of carbon tubes grouped into a plurality of subsections are disposed within the neutron beam generator, downstream from the beam generator. A radiation pipe, constructed of a plurality of elongated elongated tubes, is supported by a cradle that extends along the length of the radiation pipe. The cradle is constructed of a first and a second side that are attached and supported by a series of support braces. The radiation pipe is disposed downstream from the beam generator so that neutron beamlets produced by the neutron source pass from the beam generator through the radiation pipe. Neutron beams can be used to create gamma radiation which can in-turn disable electronic equipment, such that are found in enemy aircraft, missile guidance systems, communication systems found in ground targets and/or the like.
SYSTEM FOR DEFENSE AGAINST THREATS
A protection and defence system for an infrastructure against a threat approaching the infrastructure, comprising at least one effector. When a threat is determined, the at least one effector dispenses a non-lethal countermeasure which damages the threat and thus causes its crash. Vision and target tracker, such as at least a camera and tracker, and at least one directing/actuating drive are allocated to the effector or effectors. The effector and the vision and target tracker thereof are supported by a modular platform which can be fixedly installed to/on various infrastructures, can be removed therefrom and be used in a mobile mode. In addition, the platforms comprise a sensor that detects the spatial position of the effectors.
ENHANCED THERMAL MANAGEMENT FOR DIRECTED ENERGY WEAPON
Described herein is a thermal management system and methodology for a directed energy weapon on an aircraft. The thermal management system includes an evaporator in thermal communication with the directed energy weapon and operatively configured to cool the directed energy weapon by evaporating a refrigerant therein. The thermal management system also includes a refrigerant storage tank in fluid communication with the evaporator and a pump in fluid communication with the refrigerant storage tank and the evaporator configured to pump substantially liquid refrigerant to the evaporator.
Satellite-based ballistic missile defense system
A satellite-based missile defense system includes a neutron beam transmission tube, a beam generator disposed within the neutron beam transmission tube and operable to emit neutron beamlets from a neutron source. A first collimating plate is disposed within the neutron beam transmission tube and downstream from the beam generator. A second collimating plate is disposed within the neutron beam transmission tube and downstream from the first collimating plate. Neutron beams can be used to create gamma radiation and which can in-turn disable electronic equipment, such as that found in enemy aircraft, missile guidance systems, communication systems and/or the like.
Attachment clip for cutting torch
One example of an attachment clip includes a base portion, a retracting portion, and a biasing element. A first end of the base portion is configured to attach to a thermal breaching device. A first void of the base portion runs through the base portion and is configured to admit a nozzle of the thermal breaching device. A first end of the retracting portion is configured to retractably seat onto the second end of the base portion. A second void of the retracting portion is configured to admit a portion of the nozzle that extends through the base portion. The second void runs through the retracting portion. The retracting portion comprises a slot dimensioned for receiving at least one of a plurality of target objects. The biasing element is configured to draw the first end of the retracting portion toward the second end of the base portion.
ENERGY WEAPON HAVING A FAST START TURBINE FOR A HIGH POWER GENERATOR
A system platform includes a gas turbine engine coupled to a high power generator. The high power generator, driven by the gas turbine engine, supplies power to high power subsystems of the platform.
ELECTROMAGNETIC MOBILE ACTIVE SYSTEM
An electromagnetic mobile active system for fitting in a missile with a detonation-operated magnetic field compressor. The magnetic field compressor has at least one stator coil and at least one armature casing, which is at least partially surrounded by the stator coil and kept at a radial distance. The magnetic field compressor has at least one explosive charge embedded in the armature casing. The magnetic field compressor has at least one power source. For activating the detonation of the explosive charge, a trigger system is provided. The trigger system can be controlled by a pulse of current from the power source, depending on a signal supplied by the missile. A great amount of electrical energy can be generated in the stator coil by the detonation. For the directional radiation of the electrical energy generated by the detonation of the explosive charge, the active system has at least one directional antenna.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELECTIVELY AUGMENTING POWER OUTPUT OF A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
Systems and methods for augmenting power output when operating a load having relatively brief periods of high energy demand and high heat generation. A system comprises a gas turbine engine including a coolant injection assembly, an electrical generator coupled to the gas turbine engine, a high-energy operating load coupled to the electrical generator, and a cooling system adapted to provide cooling to the high-energy operating load. The cooling system is coupled and adapted to provide coolant to the coolant injection assembly of the gas turbine engine. A method comprises coupling the cooling system to the coolant injection assembly at the inlet of the gas turbine engine, selectively diverting at least a portion of the coolant of the cooling system to the coolant injection assembly, and spraying the diverted coolant into air entering the gas turbine engine.
Multiple adversary suppression system (MASS)
The Multiple Adversary Suppression System (MASS) is an integrated, digitally controlled nonlethal weapon system designed to disable unshielded humans and interfere with susceptible materiel. MASS emits photic and audio stimulation at intensities designed to cause distress. MASS shields its users from direct photic and analog audio stimulation, instead processing that data digitally and filtering out the disruptive stimuli MASS emits. The physical components of MASS consist of a computer controlled headset with digital visual and audio processing equipment, and a computer controlled emission rig with high intensity photic and audio emission equipment.
