The Electromagnetic Grenade is a destructive device used to disable Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV). The Electromagnetic Grenade is a purpose-built shell/round that utilizes an explosively pumped flux compression generator to create an electromagnetic pulse destructive enough to disable or destroy UGVs and similar military equipment which employ electricity as energy for onboard systems. The electromagnetic grenade includes a standard shell casing, a power source, capacitor bank, a solenoid, and a standard fuse. The casing and size of the shell can be changed to suit the weapon system that will employ the Electromagnetic Grenade. The design can be scaled to work with smaller and larger ordinance which will include small arms, artillery shells, bombs, missiles, rockets, sub-munitions, loitering munitions and similar.

The magnetic field compressor has at least one stator coil and at least one armature casing, which is at least partially surrounded by the stator coil and kept at a radial distance. The magnetic field compressor has at least one explosive charge embedded in the armature casing. The magnetic field compressor has at least one power source. For activating the detonation of the explosive charge, a trigger system is provided. The trigger system can be controlled by a pulse of current from the power source, depending on a signal supplied by the missile. A great amount of electrical energy can be generated in the stator coil by the detonation. For the directional radiation of the electrical energy generated by the detonation of the explosive charge, the active system has at least one directional antenna.

Electromagnetic pulse protection method and electromagnetic pulse protection system

An electromagnetic pulse protecting method includes: searching a threat 2 that generates an electromagnetic pulse 2a; and generating plasma 6 in a light-condensed point 4 by condensing a laser beam 5 on a light-condensed point 4 in response to detection of the threat 2. Thus, various protection objects which contain a protection object having an electric opening indispensably can be protected from an attack by the electromagnetic pulse.
