A target mounting system that includes a target having opposing tangs arranged near a bottom of the target. A cylindrical pivot disk is mounted on each tang. The pivot disk/tang combinations are arranged in the recesses of the pivot disk retaining portions of opposing pivot disk bracket assemblies that are mounted on a target channel of a target system, thereby mounting the target on said target channel. When the target is mounted on the target channel between the first pivot disk bracket assembly and second pivot disk bracket assembly, the target is rotatable between a target ready position and a target down position.

An example modular target structure includes a first leg structure, a second leg structure, and an interconnecting member. The interconnecting member connects between the first leg structure and the second leg structure to form a substantially triangular shaped support structure which can be utilized in a horizontal or vertical configuration. At least one target mount may be provided for attaching targets. The support structure is readily assembled and unassembled and can be configured between an operating position for target practice, and a collapsed position for transport and storage.

In one embodiment the target is constructed out of a unitary sheet of carboard having anterior and posterior sides, and a plurality of interlocking members. The cardboard can be folded along a center line to bring the anterior and posterior side of the carboard into an overlapping alignment. Once in overlapping alignment the interlocking members of the carboard can be mated to produce a three-dimensional emulation.
