Volleyball hitting glove
An athletic glove is provided, comprising a palm portion and a digit portion having a plurality of generally hollow digit sleeves extending from the palm portion. Each of the generally hollow digit sleeves is configured to generally confine a respective digit of a wearer. Spacers are provided between the generally hollow digit sleeves and generally maintain a predetermined abduction of the digits upon a relaxation of the wearer's hand, while generally permitting an adduction of the plurality of digits upon a predetermined adductive force exerted by the wearer. The spacers comprise a generally rigid member having a predetermined compressibility. The generally hollow digit sleeves may be closed or open at a distal end thereof. The palm portion may be a flexible fabric and a fitment apparatus selectively tightens the palm portion on a hand of the wearer. One or more padding portions may be further configured to distribute a force experienced by the wearer upon engagement with a ball.
Football training device
A football training device for teaching a user the proper throwing mechanics to obtain optimal football ball release timing, as well as the correct takeaway motion of a quarterback or any other person, wherein the present invention assists, and when necessary corrects, the user in taking a football from an unloaded football position to a loaded football position.
Golf aide with tactile indicator
A golf aide is described for providing tactile feedback to a user during a golf swing. The golf aide has a shaft (12) with a golf grip (11), an arm (14) having a linking element (13) coupling the arm (14) to the shaft (12) at a first end of the arm (14), and a tactile indicator (15) arranged at a distal end of the arm (14) opposite the linking element (13). The tactile indicator has a width greater than a width of the arm and the shaft (12), arm (14) and tactile indicator (15) are fixedly arrangeable such that the distance and angle between a portion of the golf grip to be gripped during a golf stroke and the tactile indicator is equivalent to a predetermined target distance and angle between hands and a lateral upper arm portion of an inside arm of a user at an apex of a backswing of a golf stroke.
GOLF SWING TRAINING APPARATUS
A golf swing machine with movable guides that rest on the back of the neck/shoulders and against the lower back just above the belt to help guide a golfer into forming a proper swing. Two semi-circular guides rotate around the center of the spine forcing the user to rotate around his or her spine maintaining a proper spine angle during the swing. These guides are rotatably connected to a frame which is part of a stand on which the user stands. Smooth rotation of the guides up to 180 degrees without binding is enabled by guides connected to the device by rollers rolling in semi-circular channels.
Practice Device For Golf And Other Sports
A golf training device that is affixed to to the arm and hand of the golfer-in-training in order to control the range of hand movement during the downswing of a golf swing. The device having multiple embodiments that cooperatively controls hand to wrist angles in order to keep the hands in the proper position throughout the swing. More descriptively, the device allows complete range of motion of the hands except in the extended or downward direction after initiation of the swing. In a golf swing it is important to disallow movement in the downward direction once the golf swing has been initiated, but it is also important to allow full and natural freedom of movement every other direction so a golfer-in-training does not feel uncomfortable or restriction while practicing. The present invention as constructed also allows the device to return to the natural address position upon completion of the swing.
Golf swing training device and method
A golf swing training device and method for preventing hyperextension of a joint during golf, or any other activity in which hyperextension occurs. The device includes a curved elongate member, which contains a bend that coincides with the joint, attached below the user's elbow using any one or more straps, cam buckles, and hooks and loops fasteners. The elongate member, when worn properly, does not allow the elbow to hyperextend as the top portion of the elongate member hits the back of the user's arm when the arm is straightened, preventing any further movement.
PRACTICE DEVICE FOR IMPROVING VOLLEYBALL SKILLS
A practice device with an integrated signal emitter that can provide a visual indicator. The practice device includes a dual-arm sleeve in which both arms can be inserted to form a platform for ball handling. The signal emitter integrated with the dual-arm sleeve provides a visual indicator that can effectively teach a player how their arm and body stance will affect the ball trajectory. When utilized with a target, the practice device helps a player learn how to achieve the correct arm and body stance from any location or position on the court in order to achieve the desired ball placement.
Compression Device
A compression device for applying controllable compression to a portion of the anatomy of a user, includes a body, at least one memory wire embedded in the body and configured to contract in length upon application of a current so as to reduce an effective length of the body and apply a compressive force to the portion of the anatomy of the user, and a controller configured to selectively apply current to the memory wires to contract the memory wires and reduce the effective length of the body. The controller includes a circuit board supported by the body and a microcontroller mounted to the circuit board, the microcontroller programmed to actuate the memory wires according to a compression protocol stored in a memory associated with the microcontroller. Each memory wire has a first end fixedly connected to the circuit board and a second end fixed relative to the body.
Ball striking swing training aid
A training aid for aiding a swing of a person at striking a ball such as in golf. The training includes a first arm cuff and at least one leg cuff with an intermediate connector having at least one resilient member. In this way the at least one resilient member extends in use between a trailing upper arm or above elbow of the player and the player's front lower torso or leading leg which in use aids the user by ensuring the large muscle of the trailing upper arm UA in a cocked elbow formation starts the down swing and aids the correct sequence of movement.
Compression device
A wearable massage and/or compression device for applying controllable scrolling or intermittent sequential forces, such as compression forces, to the body and limbs of a user comprises one or more shape-memory wires integrated into an article of clothing and configured to apply a compression pressure to the limb through the fabric body upon changing shape in response to a stimulus, a pre-tensioning apparatus in the form of a bungee cord associated with each shape memory wire, and a micro-processor based controller for selectively actuating the one or more shape memory wire to reduce the length of the shape memory wire to thereby apply pressure to the wearer's body.
