A method for determining an impact location of an object on a vehicle including reading in a first sensor signal value of a first sensor of the vehicle at a predefined first point in time, a second sensor signal value of the first sensor at a predefined second point in time following the first point in time, and a sample value of a second sensor of the vehicle at a third point in time following the second point in time. Additionally, an interpolation point is calculated from the first sensor signal value and the second sensor signal value by using the sample value, at least one component of the interpolation point corresponding to the sample value. A time lag between an interpolation instant assigned to the interpolation point, and the third point in time takes place. Finally, the time lag is used for determining the impact location of the object.

The sensor can be positioned on the target to detect the location of the projectile on a face of the target. The image source can project an image onto the face of the target. The portable electronic device can receive input from a user to dictate the image(s) displayed on the target. The computing device can be communicatively coupled to the sensor, the image source, and the portable electronic device and cause the target system to detect the location of the projectile and subsequently alter the image displayed on the target in response to the location.

A bullet hit detecting target panel which is configured with at least one calibration trace having a resistance that is set, and/or adjusted, to meet the characteristics of the target panel, such as panel type, zone arrangement and resistance characteristics of the conductive layers. When the target is physically and electrically connected to a target controller, then a calibration procedure is entered by applying a conductor to one or more resistive calibration structures on the target panel. Electrical characteristics of the resistive calibration structures are measured, and used for setting a hit threshold for target zones on the target panel. After which the conductor may be removed and the target is ready to accurately register hits based on the established hit threshold.

The invention features methods and devices for controlling bleeding from blood vessels that may be damaged as a result of trauma or impact with an object, such as a bullet or shrapnel. The device may be wearable by a user and include one or more components, such as wound sealant and multiple inflatable balloons/bladders. The device may be integrated into a garment, e.g., a vest, jacket, trousers, or full body suit. Once triggered (automatically or manually), the device may be used to deliver wound sealant to a wound site and/or pressure to the wound site by selective inflation of one or more balloons over exsanguinating blood vessels that may be damaged, thereby stopping or minimizing the bleeding. Alternatively, or in addition, the device may be used to stabilize a wounded wearer for, e.g., transportation purposes, or to provide buoyancy. Devices of the invention may also be used as a blood pressure monitor, as a massaging device, and as a breast pump. Devices and methods of the invention may also be used for repairing or stabilizing machines, such as vehicles (e.g., automobiles and boats).

The processor may then take corrective action, such as causing the target carrier to return to a home position, cause the target actuator to turn or edge the target, and/or send a signal to the range operators that the target carrier has been hit. The target carrier may also be provided with a camera for visualizing a target carried by the target carrier.
