A shooting target lifter includes a projectile-resistant tubular housing configured for coupling to a base of a falling shooting target including a reusable shooting target rotatably connected to the base. A target lifter arm is rotatably connected to the tubular housing, and an actuator is within the tubular housing with a first end pivotably mounted to the tubular housing and a second end pivotably mounted to the target lifter arm. A free end of the target lifter arm is configured to lift the reusable shooting target from the down position to the upright position when the ram is extended from the retracted position to the extended position. The shooting target lifter further includes a controller within the tubular housing configured to, in response to a wireless signal, output a control signal to extend the ram to reset the reusable shooting target from a down position to an upright position.

A mobile-target training system includes a base having independently-controlled motorized wheels coupled thereto. A target is coupled to the base and has a penetration detector coupled thereto. The penetration detector includes an open electric circuit having electrical properties. The open electric circuit exhibits a change in its electrical properties for each occurrence of an object passing through the open electric circuit. A feedback generator coupled to the penetration detector generates recognizable feedback for each occurrence of change in the electrical properties of the open electric circuit.

A reactive target system, method and kit are provided. The retainer may be a balloon inflatable from an unfilled or partially filled, undeployed state to a filled, deployed state. A shooting target includes an upright member to which a plurality of pivoting target members are attached. When struck by a projectile from a firearm, one of the target members rotates from a first set position, where the target member protrudes from one side of the upright member, to a second set position, where the target member protrudes from another side of the upright member, and vice versa. During this rotation of the target member, its lower edge slides upon a tapered edge provided by a plurality of tapered members. The tapered members serve to bias the target member to one of the two set positions to ensure the target member is only rotated when a direct strike is received from the projectile, and to ensure that the target member consistently rotates fully around to the other side of the upright member.

A shooting target includes an upright member to which a plurality of pivoting target members are attached. When struck by a projectile from a firearm, one of the target members rotates from a first set position, where the target member protrudes from one side of the upright member, to a second set position, where the target member protrudes from another side of the upright member, and vice versa. During this rotation of the target member, its lower edge slides upon a tapered edge provided by a plurality of tapered members. The tapered members serve to bias the target member to one of the two set positions to ensure the target member is only rotated when a direct strike is received from the projectile, and to ensure that the target member consistently rotates fully around to the other side of the upright member.
