PROPELLANT CONTAINER FOR A PERFORATING GUN
A propellant container for a perforating gun includes a lower cap, one or more pieces of propellant positioned within the lower cap, wherein at least one of the one or more pieces of propellant defines one or more through-holes, and an upper cap matable with the lower cap to secure the one or more pieces of propellant within the lower cap. A filler material is present within interstitial spaces between the one or more pieces of propellant.
Shaped charge assembly, explosive units, and methods for selectively expanding wall of a tubular
A shaped charge assembly for selectively expanding a wall of a tubular includes a housing comprising an outer surface facing away from the housing and an opposing inner surface facing an interior of the housing. First and second explosive units each includes a predetermined amount of explosive sufficient to expand, without puncturing, at least a portion of the wall of the tubular to form a protrusion extending outward into an annulus adjacent the wall of the tubular.
Explosive downhole tools having improved wellbore conveyance and debris properties, methods of using the explosive downhole tools in a wellbore, and explosive units for explosive column tools
An explosive downhole tool includes a housing having an upper housing part on one side of a window section and a lower housing part on an opposite side of the window section. An explosive charge is provided within the housing for at least one of cutting and expanding the wall of the tubular. The outer surface of at least one of the upper and lower housing part is rounded so as to be devoid of corners. The rounded surface eliminates the presence of sharp corners that may catch on restrictions or protrusions in a wellbore so that the downhole tool is more easily conveyable within a wellbore. Another explosive downhole tool includes fins extending from the housing. The fins have a height that decreases in a direction away from the housing. The shape of the fins enables the downhole tool to be more easily conveyable within the wellbore.
Stackable propellant module for gas generation
This disclosure provides a stackable propellant module for use inside of a gas generation canister. The modules are designed to enable them to be individually fired rather than as a unitary mass, as done in conventional configurations. This enables the generation of a controlled pressure profile rather than an uncontrolled pressure profile determined by the environmental conditions downhole, such as temperature and pressure.

Perforation gun system
A perforation gun that includes a monolithic bulkhead electrical contact that includes no resilient members but that is resiliently coupled to two perforating guns. The bulkhead electrical contact is configured to transmit a signal across a bulkhead from one gun to another gun.
TRIGGERING EXPLOSIVES IN HOLES
An assembly (7) for triggering an explosive in a hole (9) to produce an explosive blast in the hole includes (a) an explosion trigger (15, 19) for triggering the explosive in the hole, (b) a detonation unit body (21) that is configured to be located at or proximate an open end of the hole in an initial position of the assembly in the hole and (c) a trigger cord (31) that is connected to the detonation unit body and to the explosion trigger.
