Methods of manufacturing an athletic training device are also provided. A stand assembly for mounting an athletic training device is also provided.

Portable arm movement exercise device utilizing centripetal and reactive centrifugal force principles
10279236 · 2019-05-07 ·

A device to strengthen a person's arm muscles through the utilization of a portable device including a handle portion and a weight component with the two components separated by a flexible rod. Such a device allows for the user to grip the handle portion and act as if they are throwing such a handle portion while the weight end moves along an arc defined through the length of the flexible rod. The resultant action is the generation of centripetal force along the defined arc with the reactive centrifugal force providing resistance to the user's arm muscles in a manner that is unique and heretofore unattainable through the utilization of a portable exercise device. The flexible rod component provides at least 10 inches (25.4 cm) of spacing between the handle portion (which may be in the form of a sphere, such as a baseball or softball, or a handle, or any other typical implement that a person may throw or swing) and the weight portion (which may be of any configuration to permit increase or decrease of the weight present thereon).

Training Apparatus and Method for Ball Hitting

A ball hitting practice device includes a shaft having a target at a distal end, a grip at a proximal end, an accelerometer, a microprocessor, and a way of providing feedback to a person hitting the target. A ball hitting practice system includes a ball hitting practice device and a computing device wirelessly communicating with the ball hitting practice device. A method for practicing ball hitting involves striking the target of a ball hitting practice, transferring timed acceleration data to the computing device, correlating ball hitting parameters with a training condition and displaying the correlated ball hitting parameter in a display.

A height-adjustable support arm affixed to the base includes a swivel rotatably coupled thereto, such that the swivel is configured to rotate 360 degrees about the support arm. A swing arm coupled to the swivel includes a quick-release mechanism configured to releasably engage a sports ball retaining bracket and a first fastener. A height-adjustable return arm includes a second fastener configured to releasably engage the first fastener of the swing arm, in order to hold the training apparatus in a ready position for kicking, and includes a return member configured to stop rotation of the swing arm and return the swing arm to the ready position.

INSTRUMENTED BATTING SYSTEM
20180290037 · 2018-10-11 ·

An instrumented batting system measures a bat speed and an exit velocity as a batter swings a bat and initiates contact between the bat and a ball positioned on a batting tee assembly. The batting tee assembly includes a bat speed radar device and an exit velocity radar device each in communication with a computing device. The bat speed radar device emits a radar beam that intersects a swing plane of the batter in a direction generally toward an expected position of the batter. The exit velocity radar device emits another radar beam that intersects a flight path of the ball in another direction generally away from the expected position of the batter. The system determines the bat speed and exit velocity using the radar beams, calculates a batting metric based on the bat speed and exit velocity, and displays the swing metric using a computing device.
