Projectiles specialized for DNA and other trace evidence collection
New projectiles specialized for creating and recovering trace evidence at a crime scene are provided. A wide variety of embodiments are provided, covering several use scenarios—including, but not limited to, home security devices, which may be built into an entryway or other building structure, and law enforcement guns. In some embodiments, a projectile within a projectile is provided, which fires in the direction of a primary impact. A sampler device is provided within some projectiles, which may comprise tracing barbs, containers for analytes and even a hypodermic extraction apparatus. In some embodiments, projectiles have rebounding devices, which may overlap with aspects of the sampler device, for developing distance from a criminal suspect. Other aspects, such as GPS, fasteners and defense mechanisms, are also disclosed, which encourage recovery by the authorized user and deter interception.
MUZZLELOADER SYSTEMS
Muzzleloader systems include a pre-packaged propellant charge and primer for providing efficient loading and unloading of the muzzleloader. The muzzleloader accepts in the breech end the propellant containment vessel that abuts against a constriction portion with a reduced diameter portion. The propellant containment vessel having an end portion with a tapered surface that conforms to the constriction portion surface. A projectile is inserted in the muzzle end and seats against the constriction portion. The propellant containment vessel may be received in a removable breech plug. The constriction portion may be part of the breech plug or a separate component secured in the barrel by way of the breech plug. The containment vessel further comprises a primer mechanism that may be integrated into the proximal end of the containment vessel.

An extended range, enhanced lethality 40 mm ammunition round. The round features controlled guidance and camera front end, which can be fired as fin stabilized with no appreciable spin, from an M320 grenade launcher. The round has a launching sleeve with an oversized propellant cup, to essentially double or triple conventional range, with sharp accuracy provided by the guidance system.

A hollow spherical projectile is constructed from a plurality of curved structural segments and has a plurality of openings. The projectile can be fired by a conventional paintball marker with a high degree of ballistic accuracy. The projectile is reusable and is fabricated from a flexible and resilient material. The outer surface of the projectile exhibits low friction, achieved by the material itself or by having a low friction coating applied. The projectile possess and transmits less kinetic energy than a conventional paintball and therefore inflicts less pain and damage upon impact. Fabrication can be accomplished by 3D printing, or molding as a single seamless piece, or as a plurality of pieces which are then assembled.

A system, apparatus and method for mitigating the shock front of a rocket or aerospace plane flying at hypersonic speeds while simultaneously distilling liquid chemical elements regeneratively from the ambient air by means of vortex inversion splines. The splines may additionally be tuned by geometry to function as both centripetal and/or isentropic thrust augmentation attribute and/or double-decker Joule-Thomson refrigeration means. Because of the stochastic stagnation flux that reaches into the absolute zero zone by means of precooling, a splined stochastically switched hypersonic nosecone may be constructively tuned into a complex Carnot refrigeration engine commanding both personal and enterprise liquid Helium distilling means with orders of magnitude efficacy gains over existing methods.
FRAGMENTING PROJECTILE HAVING PROJECTILE CORES MADE OF PB OR PB-FREE MATERIALS HAVING FRAGMENTATION IN STEPS
The invention relates to fragmenting projectiles. In order that all projectiles of a*waffe*Bug projectile type have the same point of impact, i.e., the same projectile weight, the same center of gravity and the same geometry, and that the marksman can set the fragmentation behavior solely by selecting the projectile, fragmenting projectiles having defined fragmentation in steps for the same point of impact, designed as two projectile types, namely as partially fragmenting projectiles or as jacketed projectiles, are proposed, wherein all fragmenting projectiles of a projectile type have the same projectile weight, the same center of gravity, and the same geometry, a fragmentable core is arranged in the front nose region for both projectile types, all fragmentable cores of a projectile type have the same density and differ from each other in the weight of the fragmentable core depending on the fragmentation, and all projectiles of a projectile type having the same weight of the fragmentable core have an identical marking that can be seen or felt from the outside.

The invention relates to an igniter unit for a munition, comprising a housing and at least one pyrotechnic charge, the igniter unit comprising a control and communication device arranged in the housing and at least one interface connected to the control and communication unit and arranged in the housing.
Remotely Controllable Aeronautical Ordnance
An ordnance for air-borne delivery to a target under remotely controlled in-flight navigation. In one embodiment, self-powered aerial ordnance includes upper and lower cases. A plurality of co-axial, deployable blades is powered by a motor positioned in the upper case. When deployed, the blades are rotatable about the upper case to impart thrust and bring the vehicle to a first altitude above a target position. An explosive material and a camera are positioned in a lower case which is attached to the upper case. The camera generates a view along the ground plane and above the target when the ordinance is in flight. When the vehicle is deployed it is remotely controllable to deliver the vehicle to the target to detonate the explosive at the target. The ordnance may drop directly on a target as a bomb does.
