The present invention relates to a substantially spheroidal fragmentation device (10). The fragmentation device (10) comprises: i) a protective exterior layer (6) of resilient material accommodating at least one warhead (9); ii) an inner core (11) protected by said exterior layer (6). The inner core (11) comprises: ii.a) an insensitive munition (IM); ii.b) a polymeric, plastic and/or rubbery matrix embedding the insensitive munition (IM); ii.c) explosive material (5) enclosed within the matrix of ii.b) and/or surrounding the matrix of ii.b). The ratio of the thickness of the protective exterior layer (6) to the radius of the fragmentation device (10) ranges from 0.1:1 to 0.7:1. The warhead (9) is accommodated within the protective exterior layer (6) or between the inner core (11) and the protective exterior layer (6). The invention also relates to a method of firing a fragmentation device (10) as disclosed herein, wherein a firearm is aimed at a surface enabling rebounding of the fragmentation device (10) whereby the fragmentation device (10) changes direction. The invention also relates to the use of a fragmentation device (10) as disclosed herein in a firearm.

Rifles and muzzle loading rifles receiving propellant charges in break open and bolt action configurations, and barrel extensions therefor

A break open rifle and bolt action rifle having a barrel extension with a breech end for receiving a propellant charge, a muzzle end with an extended attachment structure for receiving a complementary attachment structure of a barrel, and a chamber disposed within and through the barrel extension having a first diameter at a first end and a narrowing portion adjacent a second end opposite the first end, the narrowing portion having a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, wherein the first diameter of the chamber is sized to receive the propellant charge therein, and the second diameter of the narrowing portion is sized to prevent the propellant charge from being further inserted past the narrowing portion, and to prevent a projectile from being inserted through the chamber from the barrel muzzle end. A bolt action configuration having dual diameter non-rotating bolt with an extractor and ejector mechanism for removing a propellant charge.

Screw off baseplate

A rear slip base plate for a round carrying a guidance and control unit payload, which round is launched from a rifled launch tube. To prevent the guidance and control unit payload from also being rapidly spun with the round, the slip base plate unit mechanically isolates the guidance and control unit payload from the round spin rate.

SUB-CALIBER PROJECTILE AND METHOD OF NEUTRALIZING A TARGET USING SUCH A PROJECTILE

A sub-caliber projectile of the kinetic energy type comprising a perforating rod surrounded by a sabot made of light material and allowing the projectile to be fired from a weapon, the rod being extended by a stabilizing tail. The tail is connected to the rod by a connection means that can be broken, the breaking being initiated by a control means integral with the projectile. The control means comprises a timing module which is connected to a programming interface and which is programmed before firing or during firing so as to ensure the breaking of the connection means at a reference distance relative to a target which is to be neutralized. The invention also relates to a method of neutralizing a target using such a sub-caliber projectile.

Bullet and casing projectile for rifled barrel

A projectile for loading into a rifled barrel includes a casing having a cylindrical body, a forward aerodynamic end, and a free end opposite the aerodynamic end, the cylindrical body of the casing defining an interior cavity extending to and in open communication with the free end. The projectile also has a bullet sized to initially slidably engage the casing along a partial length of the interior cavity through the free end. Upon discharge of propellant, the bullet is forced to slidably engage the casing farther within the cavity, preferably such that an entire length of the bullet is housed within the casing cavity, whereby a circumference of the casing is increased such that the increased circumference of the casing catches barrel rifling of the muzzleloader rifle. This allows a smaller caliber bullet to be used in a fouled barrel, while increasing accuracy of the muzzleloader rifle.

SABOT

The present invention provides a sabot (8) comprising a first material structure (12, 14) and a second material structure, wherein the first material structure is a lattice and wherein the second material structure is a solid. A munition (100) and a method of manufacturing a sabot are also provided.

LOW-OBSERVABLE PROJECTILE

A radar-absorbing material projectile system including a projectile with an outer layer of radar-absorbing material (RAM). A carrier or armature is disposed around the projectile, protecting the layer of RAM during the firing sequence. In some embodiments the carrier is a discarding carrier which falls away after firing, rendering the projectile low-observable with regard to radar detection due to the layer of RAM.
