Case orientation device
09989342 · 2018-06-05 ·

A case orientation device may include an input chute coupled to a discharge chute via a funnel. The input chute may have a width dimension which may be greater than the length dimension of the ammunition case. The discharge chute may have a width dimension which may be less than the less than the length dimension of the case. The funnel may transition from the width dimension of the input chute to the width dimension of the discharge chute. A splitter may be disposed in the funnel, and the splitter may have a tipping surface which may be oriented towards the input chute. A case may enter the input chute in a horizontal orientation, may be rotated out of the horizontal orientation via contact with the tipping surface, and may be forced into a vertical orientation to enter the discharge chute in the vertical orientation.

Automatic primer filler for ammunition reloading primer tubes
12146730 · 2024-11-19 ·

An automated filler for ammunition reloading primer tubes includes an upper feed assembly situated on a lower stand assembly. The upper feed assembly includes a base that holds a primer tube, anchors leaf springs, and houses an electromagnet. Leaf springs connect the base to a bowl situated directly above it. The bowl includes a metal plate, a cavity and ramp for receiving primers, features for rejecting improperly oriented primers, an exit that cooperates with a loading subassembly, which includes an exit channel fluidly connected to the bowl exit, a height adjustable lid, interchangeable resilient tubes, interchangeable tube adaptors, and a metal ring. The ring magnetically secures a primer tube to the base, and a resilient tube and tube adaptor connect the exit channel to the primer tube for loading primers with minimal interference. Optionally, a cover and concave receiving lid can partially surround and cooperate with the upper feed assembly.

Shotgun shell automated wad dispenser assembly
09879960 · 2018-01-30 · ·

The following invention provides method of retrofitting an automated wad dispensing attachment for shotgun shell reloading machines. The invention consist of the following separate parts described from proximal the distal. A cylindrical inclined rotary hopper open in its superior aspect and a floor plate in it inferior aspect having an discharge port opening near its apex of the floor plate. Just above and parallel to the floor plate a motorized rotating collating plate is present which selectively segregates wads into the correct orientation delivering them through the discharge port of the floor plate. A long vertical tubular conduit, the wad feed tube, with a proximal funnel opening attached around the exterior of the discharge port of the floor plate. The wad feed tube is attached via brackets to the reloading machine leading to a common feature on reloading machinesthe wad carrier. The wad feed tube serves the purpose of conducting the properly oriented wads to the wad carrier and as a buffer of stacked wads readied for use. As a buildup of wads in the wad feed tube reaches a desired level a switching device is tripped which interrupts the electrical power to the motor actuating the rotating collating plate preventing buffer overflow. Near the distal aspect of the tubular conduit and above the reloading machine wad carrier a metering device is present which serves two purposes. It supports the buffered column of wads and synchronizes single delivery of wad to the reloading machines wad carrier. The wad is then incorporated into the progression of the shotgun shell reloading.

Small caliber crimping primer and primer feed

As described above, this new primer feed system is both accurate and consistent. The primer feed station begins by loading primers from the vendor packaging into the vibratory feed bowl via the primer chute. The bowl has an adjustable height polycarbonate guard that is inside the main safety polycarbonate doors and exits above the machine. The bowl then orients the primers open side up and discharges them into the primer track. Crimping can be done with 3 or 5 pins or a complete radial crimp. Previous versions of the crimp station on these crimping machines involved a pin mounted to the upper ram and a lower pin actuated by the lower ram. It was difficult to time and adjust properly for a consistent crimp. This new approach to crimping has proved much more reliable, accurate and easier to adjust. It still utilizes an upper pin mounted to the upper moving ram assembly but the lower pin is fixed.

Removable one piece folding primer feeding tray
09689651 · 2017-06-27 ·

A removable one piece folding primer feeding tray preferably includes a feed tray and a valve switch. The feed tray includes a tray portion, a cover portion and a feed channel. A tray edge of the tray portion is preferably pivotally connected to the cover portion. The cover portion includes two opposing cover side walls, which are spaced apart to receive an outside perimeter of the two opposing tray side walls. The feed channel extends from an opposing edge of the tray portion. The valve switch is slidably engaged with the feed tray. The valve switch controls the flow of primers and locks the cover portion to the tray portion. A feed adapter is retained in a hand held or bench mounted primer actuator and receives the primers from the removable folding primer tray and the lifts primers for pressing into a cartridge.

BULLET FEEDER
20250189282 · 2025-06-12 ·

The object of the invention is a bullet feeder for use in ammunition reloading devices. The bullet feeder of the invention comprises a static support (1), a rotary ring (2) provided with pockets (3) for receiving bullets (4), a container (5) for bullets (4), a sorting bridge (6), a guide (7) for conveying the correctly oriented bullets (4) to a die (40) for inserting bullets (4) into a cartridge case and a drive (8) of the rotary ring (2). The feeder of the invention, with its appropriately shaped pockets (3) and sorting bridge (6), exploits the shape of the bullet (4) to position it correctly in the position of insertion. Due to the specific shape and positioning of the sorting bridge (6), the bullet feeder of the invention can be easily adapted to different calibres and different shapes of bullets.
