SMALL CALIBER CRIMPING PRIMER AND PRIMER FEED
As described above, this new primer feed system is both accurate and consistent. The primer feed station begins by loading primers from the vendor packaging into the vibratory feed bowl via the primer chute. The bowl has an adjustable height polycarbonate guard that is inside the main safety polycarbonate doors and exits above the machine. The bowl then orients the primers open side up and discharges them into the primer track. Crimping can be done with 3 or pins or a complete radial crimp. Previous versions of the crimp station on these crimping machines involved a pin mounted to the upper ram and a lower pin actuated by the lower ram. It was difficult to time and adjust properly for a consistent crimp. This new approach to crimping has proved much more reliable, accurate and easier to adjust. It still utilizes an upper pin mounted to the upper moving ram assembly but the lower pin is fixed.

Primer seating tool
A system for improving the accuracy of the seating of primers in primer pockets of shell casings while avoiding damaging the end of the shell casing is provided. A stop mechanism that directly engages the bottom of the shell is included such that, as the primer is inserted into the primer pocket, more accurate seating depth is ensured. In addition, the seating depth may be adjusted in order to compensate for changes over time, which may be due to changes in materials or wear. Further, components that interact with the end of the shell casing and rod have increased thickness to add strength and provide more surface area relative to the base of the shell casing, thus reducing the chance that the base of the shell casing is bent and allowing for a precise stopping position during priming.

AMMUNITION PRESS AND COMPONENTS THEREOF
An ammunition press for manufacturing or reloading ammunition cartridges. The ammunition press includes an adjustable shell holder for holding ammunition shells (sometimes called cases) of various sizes. A catch tray is provided for collecting spent primers or other debris. According to a user's preference, the ammunition press can be customized to provide an over-center actuated configuration or a non-over-center actuated configuration. A light is integrated with the press for illuminating the shell holder. Components of the press and associated methods are also disclosed.
AMMUNITION CARTRIDGE
Ammunition cartridge comprising a rigid casing including a tubular sleeve and a base closing an end of the casing, a projectile mounted at another end of the casing, a propellant charge contained inside the casing, and an ignition device. The ignition device comprises an ignition charge arranged to ignite the propellant charge at a point of ignition distal from the base and proximal the projectile.
Polymer cartridge having a primer insert with a primer pocket groove
The present invention provides an ammunition cartridge having a primer insert having a top surface opposite a bottom surface and a extraction flange that extends circumferentially about an outer edge of the top surface; a coupling element that extends from the bottom surface, wherein the substantially cylindrical coupling element is adapted to receive a polymer overmolding; a primer recess in the top surface that extends toward the bottom surface, wherein the primer recess comprises a recess bottom and a circular recess side wall; a primer flash aperture through the recess bottom that extends through the bottom surface, wherein the primer flash aperture is adapted to receive a polymer overmolding to form a flash hole; and one or more pads positioned on the recess bottom; a groove in the primer recess positioned around the primer flash aperture to extend at least partially over the recess bottom and adapted to receive a polymer overmolding.

Polymer ammunition having an overmolded primer insert
One embodiment of the present invention provides a polymeric ammunition cartridge and methods of making and using the same. The cartridge includes a substantially cylindrical insert connected to a substantially cylindrical polymeric middle body. The substantially cylindrical insert includes a top surface opposite a bottom surface and a substantially cylindrical coupling element that extends from the bottom surface, a primer recess in the top surface that extends toward the bottom surface, a primer flash hole positioned in the primer recess to extend through the bottom surface, and a flange that extends circumferentially about an outer edge of the top surface. The substantially cylindrical polymeric middle body includes a substantially cylindrical polymeric bullet-end and a substantially cylindrical polymeric coupling end connected by a powder chamber, wherein the substantially cylindrical polymeric coupling end extends over the substantially cylindrical coupling element and covers a circumferential surface of the primer flash hole.
