A wave making apparatus for use with a wave pool having water is disclosed. The apparatus includes a wave making chamber having an interior and a plurality of chamber walls. The chamber also has a passageway connecting the interior to the wave pool and constructed to allow water to flow there between. A water vane is disposed of in or adjacent to the passageway. The wave vane includes at least one smooth and curved water vane wall, which in combination with the plurality of chamber walls, create at least two conduit paths for the water flowing between the interior to the wave pool. The conduit paths have two ends, and the water enters one end at a first direction and exits the second end at a second direction.

ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT FOR A SWIMMING MACHINE
20200123797 · 2020-04-23 ·

An adjustable support for a provided swimming machine includes a movable assembly and a fixed assembly for adjusting the height of the provided swimming machine. The movable assembly is fixedly mounted to the provided swimming machine. The fixed assembly is attached to a pool wall of a provided swimming pool and selectively coupled to the movable assembly. One of the movable assembly or the fixed assembly includes a plurality of engaging portions, and the other of the movable assembly or the fixed assembly includes a limiting member that mates with at least one of the plurality of engaging portions. The movable assembly is switchable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The limiting member fixedly engages at least one of the plurality of engaging portions in the locked position. The limiting member is disengaged from the at least one of the plurality of engaging portion in the unlocked position, thereby providing for the movable assembly to move vertically relative to the fixed assembly.

Swim spa having a wall insert
10596439 · 2020-03-24 ·

An improved swim spa is described which has a tank having a head end and a foot end filled with water. A forward current is created by pumping equipment which directs the forward current from a head end of the tank, past a swimmer in the water to a foot end of the tank. The pumping equipment may be attached to a removable wall insert to which may be removed to allow easy repair and maintenance. The forward current allows the swimmer to swim in place. The width of the forward current is chosen to be at least twice its depth. A diverter at the foot end of the tank has a curved surface for redirecting the forward current toward the sidewalls and then back toward the head wall in a horizontal plane and downward and back toward the head wall in a vertical plane.

Hydraulic system and method for water control

Aspects of the present disclosure involve hydraulic systems and methods for altering a flow of a body of water, such as a river, channel, and/or other flowing or uncontained bodies of water. In one aspect, a hydraulic system provides a velocity barrier for the impedance of aquatic organism migration. More particularly, the velocity barrier may be adapted based on the swimming capabilities of one or more aquatic organisms to impede migration. The aquatic organism may be one or more species of fish, such as species sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus). The example implementations shown and described herein reference the restriction of the sea lamprey. However, it will be appreciated that other aquatic organisms could be restricted by the presently disclosed technology, for example, with different hydraulic targets depending on swimming capabilities.

PORTABLE SWIM LANE
20200080330 · 2020-03-12 ·

A swim lane apparatus having one or more attachment or tethering devices. The one or more attachment or tethering devices are configured to couple or affix to a foundation of the pool. The swim lane apparatus has a first sidewall. The first sidewall is coupled to the one or more attachment or tethering devices. The first sidewall is configured to form a channel and direct a flow of water out of the channel when the flow of water enters the channel.

Non-contact liquid sealing actuator system

A liquid sealing actuator system enables use in a non-contact or low-friction manner. The system includes: an inner shaft having a first end; a hollow outer shaft having a first end that receives the first end of the inner shaft; at least one sealing ring positioned adjacent an internal surface of the hollow outer shaft, wherein the at least one sealing ring has an outer diameter that is less than an inner diameter of the outer shaft, thereby defining an annular seal gap; a mass attached to a distal end of either the inner shaft or the outer shaft; and a pressure source that injects a pressurised fluid into the hollow outer shaft, thereby applying a pressure against both the first end of the inner shaft and the at least one sealing ring that assists in lifting the mass; wherein the system is at least partially immersed in an external liquid such that the at least one sealing ring is submerged in the external liquid and a head of the external liquid above the at least one sealing ring defines a backpressure in the annular seal gap that opposes the pressure applied by the pressure source.

Image processing device and image processing system

A swimming machine is delineated comprising a water driver for generating a directed flow of water and a housing adapted for receiving the water driver. An adjusting assembly is disposed above the housing and coupled to the housing via an adjustable connector that allows the housing and the adjusting assembly to move relative to each other to set the housing at a desired depth in a pool. A hanging assembly is coupled to the adjusting assembly such that the adjustment assembly can hang on an upper edge of a pool. The swimming machine further includes a supporting assembly independent of the adjusting assembly that is coupled to the housing to move therewith and is disposed below the hanging assembly. The supporting assembly contacts against the inner wall of the pool to support the body.
