Systems and methods are described for providing coaching, training, or equipment specification information to individual golfers based on data generated during their individual golf swings. Additionally, data hubs are described that provide information and services to individuals based on data collected for a community of multiple golfers. Such community data hub systems and methods may provide one or more of the following: (a) storage of scoring data, swing data, ball flight data, and/or equipment data for multiple golfers; (b) at least some level of individual access to the stored data for the community; and/or (c) electronic interaction between golfers within the community.

A swing analysis device for analyzing a swing of a user of a golf club accepts input of acceleration information, angular rate information, and strain information of a shaft of the golf club, detected by a sensor attached to the shaft, calculates attitude information of the golf club in a swing period, based on the acceleration information and the angular rate information, corrects the attitude information of the golf club at impact, based on the strain information of the shaft, and displays the corrected attitude information of the golf club on a display.

A method includes maintaining a plurality of sport-related ability metrics from a plurality of users, each of the plurality of users having a respective ability level or handicap that is within a predetermined tolerance of an ability level or handicap of an individual user; determining a statistical distribution of each of the plurality of ability metrics; receiving data from the individual user corresponding to the user's participation within a sporting activity; determining an ability metric from the data received from the individual user; generating a visual image that illustrates the determined ability metric within the statistical distribution; and displaying the visual image via the electronic user interface.

Distance measuring devices and methods are included which may be used to measure and simultaneously display an accurate range of multiple targets such as the flags of a golf practice driving range.

In a first aspect, a system for monitoring a swing is provided that includes (1) a swing measurement device adapted to couple to a swinging object and to output a signal indicative of a characteristic of the swinging object; (2) a wireless transmitter coupled to the swing measurement device and adapted to wirelessly transmit the signal output by the swing measurement device; and (3) a wireless device adapted to receive the wirelessly transmitted signal and to provide information regarding the swinging object based on the received signal. The wireless device is a cellular telephone or personal digital assistant (PDA). Numerous other aspects are provided.

A golf guide system includes a terminal to be carried by a user who is playing golf, and a location information transmitter provided in the terminal and a hole and transmitting location information of the hole to the terminal, generates a distance by measuring a distance between the terminal and the location information transmitter, and guides a distance and a recommendable club based on analysis of environment and geography between the terminal and the hole.

Systems and methods for identifying golf equipment. The system may include one or more performance tracking devices, such as an optical sensor system or a radar sensor system for tracking at least one of a golf club swing or a golf ball flight. The system also may include at least one processor and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to perform a set of operations. The operations include receiving current dynamic input for a golf shot from a golfer and current static input for the golfer. The operations also include executing a trained machine-learning model based on the received current dynamic input and current static input to generate predicted golf club properties and/or predicted golf ball properties for the golfer. The predicted golf club properties and/or predicted golf ball properties are displayed on a connected display.

A system and a method for providing service on a golf course using a fuel cell drone using a hydrogen fuel cell as a power source to provide various services while preventing a rounding delay of golfers are provided. A fuel cell drone of a system for providing service on a golf course may include a hydrogen fuel tank in which hydrogen is charged, a power pack configured to generate power to drive the fuel cell drone using the hydrogen in the hydrogen fuel tank, and a controller configured to move the fuel cell drone to a docking station or a gas supply place in response to determining that an amount of hydrogen remaining in the hydrogen fuel tank is below a set value.

Generally, described are methods, apparatuses and systems for a recommendation engine which determines a recommendation based upon a terrestrial parameter and an overall factor unrelated to the terrestrial parameter. The recommendation engine may receive as inputs: (1) some data relating to the terrestrial parameter and (2) some data relating to user operation of a mechanical device. An overall factor may be calculated or obtained, at least in part, from the data relating to user operation of the mechanical device. And based upon the data relating to the terrestrial parameter and the overall factor, a recommendation may be determined and transmitted. In one embodiment, as part of the transmission process, the recommendation may be displayed to a user requesting the recommendation.
