ELECTRONIC TRACKING SYSTEM WITH HEADS UP DISPLAY
Electronic tracking systems are disclosed for assisting users with locating objects in a sporting environment. One such system includes a ball tracking component that tracks a game ball while moving in the sporting environment, and a heads up display that is worn by the user. This heads up display has an electronic display screen with a transparent display area that dynamically displays images within the user's field of view. A processor, which communicates with the ball tracking component and heads up display, is programmed to detect movement of the game ball, and responsively determine launch characteristics and/or flight characteristics of the moving game ball. The heads up display displays the launch/flight characteristics contemporaneous with an object indication adjacent to or superimposed over the moving game ball as the game ball is visible through the transparent display area of the display screen within the user's field of view.
SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATIC EQUIPMENT ID AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AND RELATED METHODS
A sports simulator may include a piece of sports equipment bearing a marking that is configured to at least partially identify the piece of sports equipment, a first sensor configured to automatically detect the marking and a second sensor configured to detect a trajectory of a ball, and a display configured to display a sports simulation. The sports simulator may also receive an identification of the marking, identify a characteristic of a piece of sports equipment associated with the marking, receive the trajectory of the ball, generate simulation data indicative of a virtual ball with a virtual flight path responsive to the trajectory, store the characteristic of the piece of sports equipment in association with the virtual flight path of the virtual ball, and cause the display to display the virtual flight path of the virtual ball in the sports simulation.
PRACTICE DRILL-RELATED FEATURES USING QUANTITATIVE, BIOMECHANICAL-BASED ANALYSIS
Systems and methods are disclosed for generating and providing guided practices and coaching feedback (e.g., illustrated in 3D images, video, or audio) that allow golfers to follow along to improve their physical swing in a digital environment. The feedback may be provided with a 3D avatar using a biomechanical analysis of observed actions with a focus on representing actions through computer-generated 3D avatars. Physical quantities of biomechanical actions can be measured from the observations, and the system can analyze these values, compare them to target or optimal values, and use the observations and known biomechanical capabilities to generate the guided practices and coaching feedback.

Distance measurement apparatus and control method therefor
According to an exemplary embodiment, a distance measuring apparatus includes: a display unit and a sound output unit; a location acquiring sensor configured to acquire a current location; a slope sensor configured to measure a tilt angle; a distance measuring sensor configured to measure the straight line distance to a target; and a control unit configured to calculate a height of the target by using the tilt angle and the straight line distance, to calculate an attack distance by using a relationship between the height of the target, a landing angle, and the attack distance, and to output the attack distance to at least one of the display unit and the sound output unit.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTEGRATING MEASUREMENTS CAPTURED DURING A GOLF SWING
The present embodiments provide systems and methods for aggregating measurements captured by different technologies during a golf swing. By capturing measurements using different technologies, more accurate measurements may be provided to a user by selecting from the measurements, offsetting measurements based on the technologies used, and aligning measurements between devices. Further, by aggregating measurements received from different devices, additional features and functionality may be provided to the user that is absent from any one device used alone. Additionally, by storing the aggregated measurements, users, club fitters and instructors may access and leverage larger databases of measurements to better understand the user's golf swing and to provide better recommendations and instruction to the user.
Coaching aid for golf
Systems and methods for golf analysis including a tag coupled to a golf club providing statistical analytics for coaching including text, tabular, graphic, and image-based outputs that include trends information for the golfer, all based upon actual golf play on course situations, wherein the golfer inputs shot data during play, without interrupting the flow of the game, and uploads the shot data for analytics and review online, and wherein all information related to a given user are reviewable by an authorized coach user through a web-based coach access account. The system is further operable to provide the coach user rights for providing corrective or instructive feedback to the user, including visual recommendations such as modified target areas.
