A system for supplying compressed air to a pneumatic network includes a load compressor, an air supply and a power shaft driving the load compressor. The system also includes in an air outlet of such load compressor, a connecting channel connected, on the one side, with a channel connected with the pneumatic network and, on the other side, with an air discharge conduct towards an exhaust nozzle. Air flow rate bleed valves are controlled by a processing unit via servo-loops as a function of the pressure sensors and the speed sensor.

Methods and systems for operating an aircraft engine. A health parameter for the aircraft engine is monitored by a health evaluation device, the health parameter received from a first instrument. the health parameter is compared, by the health evaluation device, to a predetermined threshold. When the health parameter reaches the predetermined threshold, the health evaluation device wirelessly transmits a fault signal to a controller associated with the aircraft engine to elicit a health response from the controller, the fault signal containing at least two mutually-exclusive fault codes associated with an operating condition of the aircraft engine monitored by a second instrument.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR OPERATING AN AIRCRAFT ENGINE
Methods and systems for operating an aircraft engine. A health parameter for the engine received from a first instrument is monitored by a health evaluation device communicatively coupled to a communication link between an engine controller and a second instrument which generates an operation parameter signal indicative of an engine operating condition. The health parameter is compared, by the health evaluation device, to a predetermined threshold. When the health parameter is below the threshold, the health evaluation device causes the operation parameter signal to be transmitted from the second instrument to the controller. When the health parameter reaches the threshold, the health evaluation device prevents the operation parameter signal from being transmitted from the second instrument to the controller, and transmits to the controller a fault signal to elicit a health response therefrom, the fault signal containing at least two mutually-exclusive fault codes associated with the operating condition.
Live steam determination of an expansion engine
The present invention provides a method for open-loop controlling or closed-loop controlling and/or monitoring a device with an expansion engine which is supplied live steam of a working medium that is expanded to exhaust steam in the expansion engine comprising the steps: determining at least one physical parameter of the exhaust steam; determining at least one physical parameter of the live steam based on the determined at least one physical parameter of the exhaust steam; and open-loop controlling or closed-loop controlling and/or monitoring the device based on the at least one determined physical parameter of the live steam. A thermal power plant is also provided in which the method is realized.

The present invention provides a method for open-loop controlling or closed-loop controlling and/or monitoring a device with an expansion engine which is supplied live steam of a working medium that is expanded to exhaust steam in the expansion engine comprising the steps: determining at least one physical parameter of the exhaust steam; determining at least one physical parameter of the live steam based on the determined at least one physical parameter of the exhaust steam; and open-loop controlling or closed-loop controlling and/or monitoring the device based on the at least one determined physical parameter of the live steam. A thermal power plant is also provided in which the method is realized.
Gas turbine engine probe cooling
A gas turbine engine has a housing exposed to a high temperature environment. The housing has a circumferential wall extending around the engine centerline and circumscribing an oil cavity. The wall has a sealing interface at an inner diameter thereof, the sealing interface having a central axis offset from the engine centerline. A boss is formed on the wall on the offset side relative to the engine centerline and a probe is mounted to the boss. The probe projects into the oil cavity. The oil in the oil cavity thermally shields the probe from the high temperature environment.

Discloses is a turbine power generation system having an emergency operation means and an emergency operation method therefor that are capable of controlling excess heat accumulated during emergency operation, and recycling the accumulated heat. A turbine power generation system includes: an inlet sensor part including a thermometer, a pressure gauge, and a flowmeter that are installed between the heater and the inlet valve and; an emergency discharge part including a branch pipe connected to the steam, and a heat control means installed on the branch pipe. Accordingly, the system and the method are capable of reducing a heat overload during an emergency operation by transferring a heat amount exchanged in the heat storage device to the heat consuming facility, minimizing thermal consumption by recycling the same, and preventing various problems caused by stopping an operation of the turbine power generation system.
Compressor operability control for hybrid electric propulsion
A hybrid electric propulsion system includes a gas turbine engine having a low speed spool and a high speed spool. The low speed spool includes a low pressure compressor and turbine, and the high speed spool includes a high pressure compressor and turbine. The hybrid electric propulsion system includes an electric generator configured to extract power from the low speed spool, an electric motor configured to augment rotational power of the high speed spool, and a controller. The controller is operable to determine a target operating condition of the low pressure compressor to achieve a compressor stability margin in the gas turbine engine, determine a current operating condition of the low pressure compressor, and control a power transfer between the electric generator of the low speed spool and the electric motor of the high speed spool to adjust the current operating condition based on the target operating condition.
