SPLINE CLEANING DEVICE
A spline cleaning device for cleaning splines formed within a component of a gas turbine engine. The spline cleaning device comprises: a central support; a central support sleeve that surrounds and is movable with respect to the central support; a scraper having protrusions that substantially correspond to the splines, the scraper being attachable to the central support sleeve, and configured to remove surface contaminants from the surface of the splines; and a collector sump that is attachable to the central support and configured to collect the surface contaminants that have been removed from the surface of the splines.
Thermal Blanket System and Method
Thermal insulation blankets and methods of using the same to repair articles, such as components of turbine engines are disclosed. The thermal insulation blankets are a multilayer composite material that includes: a first flexible fiberglass fabric layer having two sides that are coated with a coating that covers the fiberglass fibers; an intermediate second fiberglass insulation blanket layer made of continuous glass fibers; and a third layer of flexible heat reflective material. The method involves wrapping a component, such as a component of a turbine engine, with one or more thermal insulation blankets in order to retain heat within the confines of a prescribed area for installing or removing parts with a precision fitment. The blankets allow enough heat to induce even thermal expansion of the components.
BLADE, PROCESSING SYSTEM AND PROCESSING METHOD
A blade (BL) is a blade that is used in fluid and includes : a base member (BM); and a coat layer (TBC) that is formed on the base member, a plurality of first grooves (9) and a plurality of second grooves (7) are formed on a surface of the coat layer, a pitch (P9) of the plurality of first grooves is different from a pitch (P7) of the plurality of second grooves.
GAS TURBINE ENGINE CASE FIXTURE ASSEMBLY WITH PLATFORM ADAPTOR
A fixture assembly includes a support stand, a support platform and a platform adaptor. The support platform is rotatably coupled to the support stand and rotatable about an axis. The support platform extends circumferentially about a centerline angularly offset from the axis. The support platform extends longitudinally along the centerline to a platform top surface. The platform adaptor is disposed on the platform top surface and attached to the support platform. The platform adaptor includes a case receptacle formed by an adaptor top surface and an adaptor shoulder surface. The platform adaptor extends longitudinally along the centerline to the adaptor top surface where the adaptor top surface is configured to longitudinally engage and support the case. The platform adaptor extends radially relative to the centerline to the adaptor shoulder surface where the adaptor shoulder surface is configured to radially engage and position the case on the adaptor top surface.
TOOL ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR REMOVING A COMPONENT MOUNTED TO A CARRIER
A tool assembly is provided for removing a component from a carrier. The component circumscribes and is mounted on the carrier. The tool assembly includes a tool head, an adaptor and an actuator. The tool head is configured to couple to the component. The adaptor extends longitudinally along a centerline between an adaptor first end and an adaptor second end. The adaptor is attachable to the tool head at the adaptor first end by a first quick coupler. The actuator includes a housing and a ram. The housing is attachable to the adaptor at the adaptor second end by a second quick coupler. The ram extends longitudinally along the centerline within the adaptor and the tool head to a ram distal end. The ram distal end is configured to engage the carrier.

FIXING DEVICE, ROTARY MACHINE, MANUFACTURING METHOD OF ROTARY MACHINE, ASSEMBLING METHOD OF ROTARY MACHINE, AND DISASSEMBLING METHOD OF ROTARY MACHINE
A fixing device fixes a relative position in a rotational direction of an outer member and an inner member of a stationary body of the rotary machine, and includes: a radial pin that is inserted into a through hole passing through the outer member in a radial direction of a rotary machine and having a stepped portion formed therein to have a larger diameter at a portion on an outer side in the radial direction of the rotary machine than at a portion on an inner side in the radial direction, that has a part on the inner side in the radial direction of the rotary machine to be inserted into a concave portion of the inner member, and that has a flange portion on the outer side in the radial direction of the rotary machine.
Method and apparatus for supporting blades
A method of supporting a cantilevered component mounted to a hub by locating a cassette in proximity to the cantilevered component, the cassette defining a volume for filling with an encapsulant; filling the volume with an encapsulant material; and causing the encapsulant to solidify to the cantilevered component to support the cantilevered component. The cantilevered component is preferably a blade on a bladed disc and the encapsulant provides support to change the vibration response of the blade during a subsequent machining step.
DIFFUSER PIPE ALIGNMENT TOOL
An alignment tool for aligning a plurality of diffuser pipes of a centrifugal compressor relative to a casing of an aircraft engine. The alignment tool includes a body defining a center axis and having at least one tool datum configured for abutting against the casing. A plurality of alignment members are fixed to the body and extend radially from the body relative to the center axis. Each alignment member of the plurality of alignment members has a respective fixed position relative to the at least one tool datum. The plurality of alignment members are configured to abut the plurality of diffuser pipes.
METHOD OF MOUNTING ROTOR BLADES ON A ROTOR DISK, AND CLAMPING DEVICE FOR PERFORMING SUCH A METHOD
A method for mounting rotor blades on a rotor disk along a predetermined pitch circle diameter in such a way that adjacent rotor blades, when properly mounted on the rotor disk and in the cold state, are clamped against each other with a predetermined preload. A clamping device which performs such a method has a plurality of clamping elements which are arranged in a uniformly distributed manner around a central axis, the number of which corresponds to the number of rotor blades to be mounted on the rotor disk and which in each case are designed for the locating of a rotor blade, wherein the clamping elements are moveable radially, exerting a radially inwardly directed force.
