FITNESS SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF
Systems and methods for fitness tracking are provided. An exercise apparatus is in networked communication with a fitness tracking computing system. The configuration and location of movable components of the exercise apparatus is determined based on sensors. This information is provided to the fitness tracking computing system via networked communication.
WHEEL FRAME, DRIVING WHEEL, WHEELCHAIR, ERGOMETER, AND MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
Provided is a wheel frame capable of measuring in detail the magnitude and the direction of a driving force while suppressing increase in weight and size of a driving wheel. A wheel flame (16a) includes a cylindrical hub (16c) into which an axle (11b) is rotatably inserted, a six-axis force sensor (16e) having an insertion hole (16e1) into which the hub (16c) is inserted, and an outer flange (16f) extending radially outward from an input section (16e2) of the six-axis force sensor (16e), wherein a hand rim (17) is attached to the outer flange (16f).
Wheelchair exercise apparatus having independent drive rollers
An exercise apparatus for a wheelchair.
Portable and configurable exercise apparatus
The present device generally relates to a portable and configurable exercise apparatus. The apparatus has a main aim unit and a removable foot unit. The main arm unit has a first hand grip and a second hand grip separated by a main telescoping shaft wherein pulling the first grip away from the second grip requires resistance and, therein develops strength. The device is configurable so as to allow the user to select the desired resistance. The removable foot unit may be temporarily inserted over the first or the second hand grip so that a user may place his/her feet (either standing, sitting or squatting) over the first or second hand grip and may pull upward with the remaining hand grip to exercise alternative muscles. The first and the second hand grip may rotate with respect to the main body shaft to allow alternative exercises.
WHEELCHAIR TREADMILL
The present disclosure relates to a wheelchair treadmill that helps a wheelchair user do an aerobic exercise by rolling driving wheels of a wheelchair in place while in the wheelchair. One embodiment of the present disclosure provides a wheelchair treadmill that supports home fitness of a wheelchair user, the wheelchair treadmill including: a footplate portion configured to assist entry or exit of a wheelchair; a roller portion which has a plurality of roller members disposed in parallel corresponding to first and second driving wheels of the wheelchair and configured to roll in a predetermined rolling direction due to rolling of each of the first and second driving wheels; a support portion coupled to one side of the footplate portion and configured to rollably support the plurality of roller members; and a brake portion rotatably coupled to the support portion and configured to stop the roller portion by being coupled to a rolling shaft of the roller members.
DIFFERENTIAL AIR PRESSURE SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USING AND CALIBRATING SUCH SYSTEMS FOR MOBILITY IMPAIRED USERS
Described herein are various embodiments of differential air pressure systems and methods of using and calibration such systems for individuals with impaired mobility. The differential air pressure systems may include an access assist device configured to help a mobility impaired user to stand in a pressure chamber configured to apply a positive pressure on a portion of the user's body in the sealed pressure chamber. The system may also include load sensors configured to measure the user's weight exerted inside and outside the chamber. The system may be calibrated by determining a relationship between the actual weight of the user and the pressure in the chamber, where the actual weight of the user may be measured by more than one load sensor and at least one load sensor is not in the pressure chamber.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR BODY WEIGHT SUPPORT SYSTEM
A body weight support system includes a tether configured to be coupled to an attachment device worn by a user to couple the user to the body weight support system. A method of providing gait training includes defining a reference length of the tether when the attachment device is in an initial position and defining a threshold length of the tether. A first amount of body weight support is provided during the gait training as the user moves relative to a surface and the length of the tether is less than the threshold length. A second amount of body weight support is provided during the gait training as the user moves relative to the surface and the length of the tether is greater than the threshold length. The method further includes displaying data associated with the gait training on a display of an electronic device.
IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO EXERCISERS
According to the invention, there is provided an exerciser suitable for exercising lower leg muscles wherein the exerciser comprises a support and a two part foot platform wherein each part of the foot platform is rotatable such that a first part of the foot platform allows plantar flexion rotational movement of a foot and that a second part of the foot platform allows dorsiflexion rotational movement of the foot; and a dual foot exerciser wherein the respective first parts of each foot platform are connected together and/or the respective second parts of each foot platform are connected together such that movement of a first or second part on one exerciser moves the corresponding first or second part of the other exerciser; by separating the movement of the foot by the provision of a two part rotatable foot platform, the exerciser allows natural movement of the foot, ankle and lower leg; with the optional addition of a resilient member of variable resistance for muscle strengthening and/or a mechanical device to move each of the foot-plates individually or in sequence, to provide plantar and dorsi flexion where voluntary movement is affected such as in MS or foot drop from stroke.
EXERCISE APPARATUS
Exercise apparatus (10) has two wheels (12, 12) rotatably mounted to a base 14, 14, spaced apart and each located within a housing (15, 15) respectively. Pivotably connected to the wheel is a cam (16). The other end of cam 16 is pivotably connected to a push rod (17) which is pivotably connected to a handle (18) which is rotatably mounted in a housing (20). Housing (20) is pivotably mounted to the arm (16) such that movement of the arm in a vertical plane up or down by operating on the handle causes an elliptical rotation of the arm relative to the wheel (12).
FITNESS APPARATUS
An exercise apparatus is provided having a handle pivotally attached to a flat base, the base and handle each configured for receiving optional weights, the flat base providing resistance when the handle moves the base along a surface.
