A camshaft includes, as a cam that opens and closes an exhaust valve and an intake valve, a ball cam whose protrusion amount changes according to rotation of the camshaft, wherein the camshaft has a double structure consisting of an inner shaft and an outer shaft provided in a manner that the inner shaft is helically displaced with respect to the outer shaft around an axis of the camshaft according to a rotation speed of the camshaft, and the ball cam is accommodated movably in a guide groove provided in the inner shaft and protrudes from the outer shaft, and a protrusion amount of the ball cam from the outer shaft changes when the ball cam moves in the guide groove due to the helical displacement of the inner shaft with respect to the outer shaft.

An electromagnetic actuator having at least one electromagnetic actuator unit, the actuator unit comprising a coil and a plunger, which plunger is axially movable relative to the coil via energization of the coil, and the actuator unit being arranged in a housing. The present invention relates to a switchable actuation device (100) for a gas exchange valve. The switchable actuation device (100) comprises a two-piece rocker arm (10). Said rocker arm comprises a first rocker arm portion (1a), which is mounted pivotably about a rocker arm shaft (2) and to which a bearing sleeve (1a1) is fastened concentrically with the rocker arm shaft (2), and a second rocker arm portion (1b) mounted pivotably on the bearing sleeve (1a1). Furthermore, both the first and the second rocker arm portions (1a, 1b) each comprise a cut-out (3a, 3b), wherein a locking element (4a) of a coupling device (4) of the switchable actuation device (100) can optionally be brought into and out of engagement with the two cut-outs (3a, 3b). An actuation of the poppet valve, preferably a change between a closed position and an open position of the poppet valve, is interrupted if the locking element (4a) is not in engagement with the two cut-outs (3a, 3b). The invention also relates to an internal combustion engine (20) and a motor vehicle (30).

ELECTROMAGNETIC ACTUATING DEVICE WITH ADAPTABLE PLUNGER ARRANGEMENT

The invention relates to an electromagnetic actuating device (20) having at least two actuator units (1a, 1b) which are arranged adjacently in a housing (10) and which each have electrically energizable static coil means (2a, 2b), armature means (3a, 3b) mounted so as to be movable relative to said coil means, and a plunger (4a, 4b) which interacts with the armature means (3a, 3b) and which is mounted so as to be movable along axial plunger direction (S1, S2) and which has a free end portion (5a, 5b) for engagement into an actuation partner, in particular a guide groove of a camshaft, wherein the plungers (4a, 4b) of the actuator units (1a, 1b) of the actuating device (20) are preferably arranged such that the plunger directions (S1, S2) thereof run parallel to one another, and wherein the device (20) has adjustment means (6) which are integrated in the housing (10) and which serve for varying the arrangement of at least one plunger along a plane (E) perpendicular to the respective plunger direction (S1, S2).

MODULE FOR A VARIABLE-LIFT VALVE DRIVE OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

A preassembled module for a variable-lift valve drive of an internal combustion engine is provided for installation into a cylinder head. The module has a base plate with an electric linear actuator which lies on an upper side of the base plate. A guide plate, which lies on the upper side, has an outer side wall arranged to guide a slide piece. The guide piece extends below the base plate two downwardly pointing actuating fingers. Each respective actuating finger has a contact surface for moving a transverse coupling slide of a switchable rocker arm. The slide piece has a bracket which protrudes over the guide plate with a contact landing arm which runs transversely relative to the electric linear actuator. An actuator-side end of the contact landing arm is in contact with an actuating pin of the electric linear actuator to move the slide piece.

Electromagnetic latch assembly with flexible latch pin coupling

In an electromagnetic latch assembly of a type that includes an armature, an electromagnet operative to actuate the armature, a latch pin, and a rigid metal structure that supports both the electromagnet and the latch pin, the latch pin is attached to the armature through a bendable connection. The electromagnet may be mounted to or housed within the metal structure. The latch pin may protrude from the rigid metal structure and may be guided by the metal structure. The bendable connection couples translation of the armature to translation of the latch pin while allowing the two parts to move independently to some degree. The bendable connection may reduce forces on the armature that could cause the armature to bend or stick. Those forces may result from misalignment between the latch pin and the armature or from the latch pin being driven off axis under load.

VALVE TRAIN ASSEMBLY

A type II valve train assembly that selectively opens first and second intake valves and first and second exhaust valves is provided. The valve train assembly includes an intake rocker arm assembly and an exhaust rocker arm assembly. The valve train assembly is configurable for operation in any combination of activated and deactivated states of engine braking and cylinder deactivation. The exhaust rocker arm assembly includes a first exhaust rocker arm, a second exhaust rocker arm and an engine brake exhaust rocker arm. A first exhaust HLA is associated with the first exhaust rocker arm. A second exhaust HLA is associated with the second exhaust valve. An exhaust actuation assembly selectively actuates to alter travel of the first and second exhaust HLA's to change a state of cylinder deactivation between activated and deactivated.

HYDRAULIC VALVE MECHANISM WITH VARIABLE VALVE OPENING TIMES AND INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

The present invention discloses a hydraulic valve mechanism with variable valve opening times and an internal combustion engine, which can effectively implement a single-opening working mode, a two-opening working mode or a multi-opening working mode of a valve in the same working cycle, and can implement a rapid and stable switchover among various working modes according to working condition requirements of the internal combustion engine. A main structure thereof includes a housing, a valve cam including a main protrusion and at least one auxiliary protrusion, a hydraulic rotary valve having a hydraulic switch valve function, a hydraulic drive component, a valve drive component, and the like. Oil passages of the hydraulic drive component, the hydraulic rotary valve, and the valve drive component are in communication.

The cam (1) is a multi-lift cam having high and low cam molded lines, and can meet the requirements for the gas distribution phase under two working conditions, thereby achieving optimal engine performance and emission target. Moreover, the provided intake valve drive piston (5) and hydraulic oil path implement switching of the lifts of the cam (1).

An engine system and valvetrain can comprise a rocker shaft combined with a first block, a first cylinder deactivation oil control valve in the first block, a second cylinder deactivation oil control valve in the first block. Also, a second block can be combined with the rocker shaft with a third cylinder deactivation oil control valve and an early exhaust valve opening oil control valve in the second block. The rocker shaft can comprise oil infeeds and oil outfeeds configured for supplying hydraulic pressure to the first and second blocks, the blocks can distribute the pressure to the control valves, and the blocks can return pressure to the rocker shaft. Intake and exhaust rocker arms can receive the returned pressure to actuate valves, and the rockers arms can be arranged line-to-line with no overlap during motion.
