An engine includes a crank shaft inside a crankcase and an oil pan and penetrates the crankcase and the oil pan in an up-down direction. An oil pump and an oil strainer are provided inside the oil pan. The oil pump is coaxial with the crank shaft and is driven by the crank shaft. The crank shaft includes a first region and a second region respectively supported pivotably by a plate-shaped support and the crankcase. The support is provided in the crankcase such a that both surfaces of the support are covered by the crankcase and the oil pan and allows communication between the crankcase and the oil pan.

OIL RECIRCULATION SYSTEM FOR ENGINES

An oil recirculation system for an engine is disclosed. The oil recirculation system includes a first conduit coupled to the engine to receive an oil and a second conduit coupled to the engine to supply the oil to the engine. The oil recirculation system further includes a filtering device disposed between the first and second conduits. The filtering device includes a first housing member defining a first chamber therein. The first chamber is in fluid communication with the first conduit. The filtering device further includes a second housing member removably coupled to the first housing member and defines a second chamber therein. The second chamber is in fluid communication with the second conduit. The first and second chambers together define a passage to receive the oil therethrough. The filtering device further includes a filter member disposed in the passage to filter the oil flowing therethrough.

COMBINED OIL FILTER AND RESTRICTOR ASSEMBLY

A combined oil filter and restrictor assembly is disclosed having an oil flow restrictor interposed between first and second filters so that, irrespective of the direction of oil flow through the restrictor, debris cannot enter a small diameter bore 32 in a body of the restrictor thereby reducing the likelihood of restrictor blockage. The combined oil filter and restrictor assembly includes a metal threaded member that enables the combined oil filter and restrictor assembly to be easily and quickly assembled to or removed from a component such as a cylinder head of a variable displacement engine. The combined oil filter and restrictor assembly can be used to provide a restricted flow of oil from oil supply passages to signal oil passages used for controlling the operation of deactivatable hydraulic lash adjusters so as to purge the signal oil passages when the deactivatable hydraulic lash adjusters are not deactivated.

A power system including: a power unit, a supply pump for feeding liquid oil for lubricating the power unit; a supply flow path for guiding, to the power unit, the oil fed from the supply pump; a return pump for returning the oil having flowed through the power unit; a return flow path for guiding, to the return pump, the oil having flowed through the power unit; a circulation flow path for guiding, to the supply pump, the oil returned by the return pump; a bypass flow path connecting the supply flow path and the return flow path; and an on-off valve for opening and closing the bypass flow path.

LUBRICATION MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF CHANGING LUBRICATION IN A TURBINE ENGINE

A lubrication maintenance system for a gearbox assembly of a turbine engine includes a reservoir that stores a lubricant and a lubrication pump fluidly coupled to the reservoir that circulates the lubricant through the lubrication maintenance system. A heat exchanger is fluidly coupled to the lubrication pump and the gearbox assembly of the turbine engine, and a plurality of sumps are fluidly coupled to the heat exchanger. The lubrication pump is fluidly coupled to the gearbox assembly and each of the plurality of sumps, such that the lubrication pump scavenges circulated lubricant from the gearbox assembly and each of the plurality of sumps and recycles the circulated lubricant to the reservoir.
