Controlling lubricant flow in epicyclic gearbox
A disclosed lubrication system for a turbofan engine includes a pump for driving lubricant through a lubrication circuit, at least one sensor generating a signal indicative of an engine operating condition and at least one valve for controlling a flow of lubricant through the lubrication circuit. A controller controls operation of the valve to vary the flow of lubricant based on the engine operating condition to maintain lubricant flow within predefined operating limits.
Auxiliary lubrication system with flow management valve
A lubrication system is disclosed. In various embodiments, the lubrication system includes a storage tank configured to store a lubricant; a flow management valve configured to direct the lubricant to a starvation tolerant component and to a valve exit conduit; and a main pump configured to receive the lubricant from the storage tank and to pump the lubricant to the flow management valve and to a starvation intolerant component.

A straddle vehicle includes: a prime mover; a hydraulically actuated main clutch; an oil control valve unit; a power unit case accommodating at least the main clutch; an oil pan mounted beneath the power unit case; a clutch-dedicated pump; a primary filter disposed in an oil passage between the oil pan and the clutch-dedicated pump; and a secondary filter disposed in an oil passage between the clutch-dedicated pump and the oil control valve unit. The primary filter and the secondary filter are mounted on a bottom surface of the power unit case and covered from below by the oil pan.

A resin piping assembly including a base divisional component having first and second half components having respective first and second interfacial surfaces formed along an oil passage, and first and second divisional components which have respective third and fourth interfacial surfaces formed along the oil passage, and which are bonded to the respective first and second half components. Each of the base divisional component, and the first and second divisional components is formed of a resin material, and the first and second interfacial surfaces are spaced apart from each other, and open in respective opposite directions. The base divisional component further includes a cylindrical connecting pipe portion having a connecting passage portion which is a part of the oil passage and which is provided for communication between the first and second passage portions. Also disclosed is a process of forming the resin piping assembly.
ENGINE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A VEHICLE
The present disclosure relates to an engine system (1) for a vehicle (100), comprising, an internal combustion engine (10), a lubrication system (20) arranged to lubricate the internal combustion engine (10) and a first lubrication pump (21) arranged to supply lubricant to the lubrication system (20). The first lubrication pump (21) is configured to be powered by an auxiliary power source (40), wherein the lubrication system (20) is further arranged to supply lubricant to at least one auxiliary component (30, 31) of the engine system (1) which requires to be lubricated when in use, and wherein the lubrication system (20) comprises at least one valve (23, 25) for selectively shutting off lubricant supply to the at least one auxiliary component (30, 31). The present disclosure also relates to a vehicle (100), to a method for controlling lubricant supply to an auxiliary component (30, 31) and to a control unit (70).
Valve assembly for machine fluid operations
A fluid system of a machine. The fluid system includes a fluid reservoir, a pump coupled to the fluid reservoir, a filter coupled to the pump and a valve assembly. The valve assembly includes a first port, a second port coupled to the first port and to the fluid reservoir, a third port coupled to the first port, and a first check valve positioned between the first port and the second port. The fluid system further includes a second check valve positioned between the filter and the third port.

An internal combustion engine including a crank chamber housing a crankshaft connected to moving parts able to supply torque to the crankshaft, a lubrication circuit, an oil sump for collecting the lubricating oil, the engine including a separating partition which separates the crank chamber from the oil sump, in which the lubrication circuit includes a first oil pump and a second oil pump, where the first oil pump is fluidically connected in aspiration to the crank chamber and in delivery to the oil sump, the second oil pump being fluidly connected in aspiration to the oil sump and in delivery to the crank chamber by means of the lubrication circuit, to re-introduce pressurised oil in the crank chamber and lubricate the moving parts.

A method (500) and apparatus (50, 60) for lubrication of a gearbox (30) of an aircraft engine comprise provision (502) of oil to the gearbox (30) through a primary oil system (50) driven by a core (11) of the engine (10) in normal conditions; detection (504) of windmilling conditions and/or failure of the primary oil system (50); and in response to the detected condition or failure, activation (506) of an electric pump (61) of an auxiliary oil system (60), to provide oil to the gearbox (30).

A vehicle drive device is provided with a lubricating path including a first oil pump to pump up an oil stored in the casing by the first oil pump and to supply the oil to the power transmission mechanism for lubricating the power transmission mechanism, and a cooling path that is separated from the lubricating circuit and provided for the rotating electric machine, the cooling path including a second oil pump to pump up the oil stored in the casing by the second oil pump to supply the oil exclusively to the rotating electric machine for cooling the rotating electric machine, the second oil pump is an electric oil pump, and the cooling path is provided with an oil cooler cooling the oil to be supplied to the rotating electric machine.

A delivery device for delivering oil from an oil sump in a motor vehicle has an oil pump with two pressure stages. The pressure stages deliver oil from a common suction connection to different outlet connections. The oil is delivered by the pressure stages at different delivery pressures and in different delivery volumes.
