Systems and methods for hole detection in crankcase ventilation tubing
Systems, devices and methods for diagnosing malfunctioning in a crankcase ventilation (CCV) system are provided. A controller includes a processor and a memory storing instructions that cause the processor to: receive a plurality of pressure values including (i) a first pressure value indicative of a pressure of fluid flowing from a crankcase to a breather assembly of a system, (ii) a second pressure value indicative of a pressure of fluid flowing through a first tube coupled to the breather assembly, and (iii) a third pressure value indicative of a pressure of fluid flowing through a second tube coupled to the breather assembly; determine a pair of pressure differences based on the first pressure value, the second pressure value, and the third pressure value; and detect a malfunctioning in the CCV system based on the pair of pressure differences.
System and method for diagnosing a variable oil pump
Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing degradation of a variable oil pump (VOP). In one example, a method may include during a deceleration fuel shut-off (DFSO) condition, diagnosing degradation of the VOP based on a rotational speed of the engine.
Diagnostic method for an oil piston cooling jet valve, diagnostic device, control unit, motor vehicle
A diagnostic method for an oil piston cooling jet valve of an oil pressure system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, including: Driving the OPCJ valve for detecting oil pressure diagnostic data if multiple enabling conditions have been met, the multiple enabling conditions including: Presence of a stationary operation of the internal combustion engine; presence of a predetermined operating range; presence of an oil temperature within a predetermined oil temperature range; prevention of a scheduled driving of the OPCJ valve for regular piston cooling; and prevention of an error of the oil pressure system. The diagnostic method further including: Determining whether an oil pressure measuring point is within a predefined oil pressure measuring point range. The invention further relates to a diagnostic device, a control unit and a motor vehicle, which are each suitable or configured for carrying out the method.

Method of controlling electric oil pump for vehicle
A method of controlling an electric oil pump (EOP) for a vehicle includes, if a current temperature of oil is lower than a reference temperature, determining whether an EOP RPM is lower than a minimum driving RPM, if the EOP RPM is lower than the minimum driving RPM, applying a first reduction rate for a first setting time and reducing a target line pressure and an instruction RPM of the EOP, if the EOP RPM is equal to or higher than the minimum driving RPM, determining whether vibration of the EOP RPM is generated above a reference vibration, and if the vibration is generated above the reference vibration, applying a second reduction rate for a second setting time and reducing the target line pressure or the instruction RPM of the EOP.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING CYLINDER DEACTIVATION
Systems and methods for operating an engine with deactivating and non-deactivating valves are presented. In one example, estimates of engine fuel consumption for operating the engine with a plurality of cylinder modes or patterns while a transmission is engaged in different gears are determined and are used as a basis for deactivating engine cylinders.
HYDRAULIC PRESSURE WARNING DEVICE
This hydraulic pressure warning device 100 issues a hydraulic pressure warning when an anomalous hydraulic pressure drop or clogging of an oil filter 101 has been estimated to be occurring. The hydraulic pressure warning device is provided with a control device 103 that: executes control so that a first hydraulic pressure warning is issued if an anomalous hydraulic pressure drop has been estimated to be occurring; and executes control so that a second hydraulic pressure warning is issued if clogging of the oil filter 101 has been estimated to be occurring.

OIL FILTER-LEAK PRESSURE-TEST STATION
An apparatus and a method are provided for an oil filter-leak pressure-test station. The oil filter-leak pressure-test station comprises an air pump, a pressure gauge, a vent valve, an overflow reservoir, and a manifold configured to receive an oil filter. The oil filter-leak pressure-test station is configured to apply a desired internal air pressure to an oil filter for observing the oil filter assembly for any potential leaks, such as along a seal ring, rolled seam or a nut-end. The oil filter-leak pressure-test station is also configured to be mounted in a vise or similar mechanical attachment for observation to determine the extent or existence of any leak in the oil filter. The oil filter-leak pressure-test station may also be submerged in water using a submersion reservoir, so as to determine the existence and location of any leaks.
