An engine roller lifter for use in a valve train of an internal combustion engine according to one example of the present disclosure includes a body and a groove formed in the body. The body has an outer peripheral surface configured for sliding movement in a bore provided in the engine. The bore is supplied by an oil passage communicating therewith. The body defines an axial pocket that receives a plunger therein. The groove is inset from the outer peripheral surface and formed about only a portion of a circumference of the body. The groove defines a first end and a second end. Only a portion of the first and second ends overlap with the oil passage to regulate the amount of oil supplied to the groove from the oil passage.

ADAPTER FOR ROLLER TAPPET OF ENGINE AND ENGINE ROLLER TAPPET ASSEMBLY INCLUDING SAME

An adapter for a roller tappet of an engine may include a body and a support. The body may be combined with a cylinder block of the engine. The body may include oil inlet connected to main gallery of the cylinder block to receive an oil from the main gallery. The support may be extended from one end of the body to support the roller tappet. The support may include a first oil passageway connected to the oil inlet. The first oil passageway is formed through the body and the support to supply the oil supplied from the oil inlet to the roller tappet. Thus, the oil may be supplied from the main gallery to the roller tappet through the oil passageway so that it may not be required to form an additional oil passageway, which may supply the oil to the roller tappet, in the cylinder block.

LINEAR-GUIDED VALVE BRIDGE FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

A cylinder head assembly is for an internal combustion engine. The cylinder head assembly includes a cylinder head and first and second valves coupled to the cylinder head. The first and second valves are associated with a combustion chamber partially defined by the cylinder head. The cylinder head assembly also includes a fixed member coupled to the cylinder head and a valve bridge engageable with the first and second valves. The valve bridge is axially moveable along an axis relative to the fixed member to move the first and second valves together between an open position and a closed position. The cylinder head assembly further includes an anti-rotation feature between the valve bridge and the fixed member. The anti-rotation feature restricts rotational movement of the valve bridge about the axis.

ENGINE DEVICE

An engine device including, in a cylinder block (6) thereof, a cylinder bore (73), a cam chamber (76) accommodating a camshaft (75), a push-rod chamber (78) accommodating a push-rod (77), and a tappet holder (80) configured to hold a tappet (79) in a slidable manner, the tappet (79) being configured to transmit the drive force from the camshaft (75) to the push-rod (77). The tappet holder (80) partitions the cam chamber (76) and the push-rod chamber (78). A bypass passage (83) communicating the cam chamber (76) with the push-rod chamber (78) is formed between the tappet holder (80) and the cylinder bore (73).

Cam follower, injection pump and valve actuator having such a cam follower, and manufacturing method

A cam follower is provided having a tappet that includes a cylindrical outer surface centered on a longitudinal axis and adapted to slide in a housing surrounding the tappet, a pin extending between two opposite ends along a transverse axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, a roller element movable in rotation relative to the pin around the transverse axis and adapted to roll on a cam, and lubrication channels for lubricating the pin and the roller. The cam follower further provides a support element mounted in the tappet and supporting the pin, and the lubrication channels include at least one pair of consecutive channels formed through the tappet and the support element. The invention also provides an injection pump and a valve actuator for a motor vehicle, each having such a cam follower. The invention finally provides a method for manufacturing such a cam follower.

OIL FEED MEMBER AND LUBRICANT FEED MECHANISM OF ENGINE PROVIDED WITH THE SAME

Provided are an oil feed member that makes it possible to ensure a wide distance between oil passages and to achieve space saving in the oil passages and a lubricant feed mechanism of an engine provided with the oil feed member. An oil feed member includes a lubricant passage and a plurality of discharge ports that are formed on the downstream end of the lubricant passage and discharge lubricant flowing through the lubricant passage to a lubrication portion. The lubricant passage includes a basis oil passage, a first upstream branch oil passage that branches off from the basis oil passage and allows lubricant guided to the discharge ports to flow therethrough, and a second upstream branch oil passage that branches off from the basis oil passage and allows lubricant guided to the discharge ports to flow therethrough.
