Turbine engine with bearing assembly
An apparatus and method for a bearing assembly including a frame, an inner race circumscribing a shaft for a turbine engine, a bearing movable about the inner ring, an outer race circumscribing the at least one rolling element, a spring assembly comprising an inner ring circumscribing the at least one cage, and an outer ring mounted to the frame, and a set of circumferentially arranged spring fingers extending between the inner ring and the outer ring.
Oil pan assembly
An oil pan assembly for a vehicle engine includes an oil pan having a sectioned base, a sidewall, and a peripheral flange operatively configured to be coupled to an engine block; and a plurality of openings in the oil pan operatively configured to attach the oil plan to an engine block via a plurality of corresponding fasteners.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A cylinder block of an internal combustion engine includes an oil drain hole that opens in a lower surface of the cylinder block. An oil pan is fixed to a lower part of the cylinder block and configured to collect oil. A balancer device is arranged inside the oil pan below a crankshaft. A baffle plate is flat and arranged inside the oil pan between the crankshaft and the balancer device covering the balancer device from above. An oil flow passage extends through the baffle plate in a thickness-wise direction. The oil flow passage is arranged in the baffle plate at a location overlapped with an oil falling path that extends from the oil drain hole to a bottom surface of the oil pan.
VEHICLE LOWER PORTION STRUCTURE
In a vehicle lower portion structure, a plurality of cross members are suspended along a vehicle width direction between a pair of side rails. Further, an oil pan guard is suspended along a longitudinal direction between a No. 2 cross member and a No. 3 cross member to protect an oil pan of a transmission from below. When a vehicle collides on its front, engagement between the oil pan guard and the cross member is released, to thereby prevent a decrease in the amount of collision energy to be absorbed by the pair of side rails.
Method of forming a structural oil pan via lost core molding
A method of forming a structural oil pan via lost core molding is disclosed. The structural oil pan comprises a bracket portion configured for mounting to the vehicle, a pan portion integrated with the bracket portion and defining an oil reservoir, and a structural section formed via lost core molding and defining a cavity. The method comprises the step of lost core molding by forming a metal core, molding the bracket portion and/or the pan portion about the metal core, and removing the metal core to form the structural section in at least one of the bracket portion and the pan portion. The method also includes co-molding the bracket portion and the pan portion together to form the structural oil pan.
Work Vehicle
A work vehicle includes an engine, an intake passage through which combustion air flows from an ambient air inlet to an engine, an air cleaner for removing dust contained in the combustion air, a throttle valve for adjusting an intake amount of the combustion air by the engine, a blowby gas returning passage for returning blowby gas discharged from the engine to a mid portion of the intake passage, and an inclined passage portion that assumes a progressively downwardly inclined posture to be located at a lower position on downstream side in a flow direction, the inclined passage portion having a water draining portion at its lowermost end.
ENGINE DIPSTICK
An engine with an engine casing and a dipstick. The dipstick extends into the engine casing and has a free end. The design of the free end may be selected such that the natural frequency of the dipstick does not resonate with the operating frequency of the engine. The dipstick may also be oriented such that the free end does not contact the engine.
Structural oil pan
A structural oil pan for a vehicle is formed from polymeric material, The structural oil pan includes a bracket portion configured for mounting to the vehicle, and a pan portion integrated with the bracket portion and defining an oil reservoir. The structural oil pan also includes a structural section defining a cavity within at least one of the bracket portion and the pan portion for reducing vibration.
