SEALING ARRANGEMENT

ENGINE LUBRICATION SYSTEM
An engine oil lubrication system includes an oil flow control baffle disposed in the sump of the oil pan. The baffle may be detachably mountable in the sump of the oil pan. The baffle may be configured to prevent oil returning to the sump from the engine from short-circuiting and flowing directly to the oil pump intake. The baffle creates a circuitous flow path which forces mixing of the returning oil before being drawn into the oil pump intake nozzle via increasing resonance time of the oil in the sump to enhance cooling. The present disclosure further provides a modular engine mounting system which extends the number of engines and vehicle chassis which can utilize a single oil pan to mount to the chassis. Interchangeable mounting flanges are provided having different bolting patterns compatible with the different chassis.
Oil pan for internal combustion engine
[Summary] Oil pan (10) for containing engine oil is configured so as to be divided into metallic upper oil pan (13) and synthetic resin lower oil pan (14). Upper oil pan (13) and lower oil pan (14) are respectively provided with beam (25) and rib (24), which extend in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. Beam (25) and rib (24) are caused to face each other with gap (26) provided therebetween. When external force which can deform lower oil pan (14) in the front-rear direction of the vehicle acts on lower oil pan (14) due to the interference thereof with curbstones or the like, beam (25) and rib (24) come into contact with each other and prevent lower oil pan (14) from deforming in the front-rear direction of the vehicle.
Oil pan for motor vehicles having additional connection points
A two-part oil pan for an internal combustion engine has a box portion and a pan portion. The pan portion forms a floor of the oil pan and the box portion forms a pan wall of the oil pan. On a peripheral edge having a peripheral first sealing surface on the pan portion and a peripheral second sealing surface on the box portion, the box portion and the pan portion are interconnected in a sealed manner by means of first connection means. The pan portion and the box portion additionally are interconnected by at least one second connection means which is arranged within the edge and additionally at a distance from said edge.

THERMAL STORAGE MATERIALS AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
The present invention relates to automotive products, as well as uses thereof, which can facilitate warming of engine oil in an energy efficient and, therefore, more environmentally friendly manner. More specifically, a fluid reservoir is disclosed that includes a double walled vessel that defines a fluid containing compartment and has a self-contained region that shares a wall with the fluid containing compartment. A composition in the self-contained region at least partially covers the shared wall surface, and one or more light sources are positioned in the self-contained region to induce a phase change in the composition. The composition includes a phase-change material (PCM) and a molecular switch material. This fluid reservoir can be used to heat oil in an engine or oil pan.
ENGINE
Embodiments are directed toward an engine. In some embodiments, the engine includes a water pump and a balancer shaft. In some embodiments, the water pump has a plain bearing. In some embodiments, plain bearing is supplied with pressurized oil. In some embodiments, the balancer shaft drives the water pump as well as cam shafts.

An oil pan may include a pan body forming a dual chamber including a primary chamber and a secondary chamber, and a mesh. The primary chamber and the secondary chamber each contains a different amount of oil, and the mesh allows a different amount of oil permeation discharged from the secondary chamber to the primary chamber based on temperature of the oil.
