10767756 · 2020-09-08 · ·

A component and method for forming the component utilizing ultra-high strength steel is provided. The method includes the steps of providing a blank of ultra-high strength steel and forming the blank into an unfinished component. Next, heating the unfinished component and moving an inner tooling member and an outer tooling member relative to one another to sandwich the heated component therebetween. Further, moving a punch member from a withdrawn, unactuated position to an extended, actuated position to contact the component while sandwiched between the inner and outer tooling members to form a feature including at least one of a thickened region having an increased thickness relative to an adjacent region, a recessed annular groove, a recessed pocket, a through hole, a flange, a through hole having a tab extending outwardly therefrom, or spline teeth. Then, quenching the feature.

Fast engine oil warm-up type oil pan and engine system thereof

An oil pan may include a pan body forming a dual chamber including a primary chamber and a secondary chamber, and a mesh. The primary chamber and the secondary chamber each contains a different amount of oil, and the mesh allows a different amount of oil permeation discharged from the secondary chamber to the primary chamber based on temperature of the oil.

Multi-Function Oil Tank

An oil distribution system uses an oil storage container to contain an air/oil separation unit, a heat exchanger, and an oil reservoir. The functions of oil storage, air/oil separation, and cooling are integrated in the container. Hot aerated oil enters the container at an air/oil separation unit. The air/oil separator deposits hot de-aerated oil into the oil reservoir. The oil reservoir transfers hot de-aerated oil to conduits in a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger uses fuel to cool the oil and warm the fuel. Cooled de-aerated oil is provided to a mechanical device for lubrication and warmed fuel is provided to power an engine. The container may alternatively receive hot aerated oil into the conduits in the heat exchanger. Cooled aerated oil is delivered to the air/oil separation unit to deposit cooled de-aerated oil into the reservoir. Cooled de-aerated oil is pumped to a mechanical device to provide lubrication.

Provided are a reinforced structural body where an internal tension can be sufficiently generated in a reinforcing member against a deformation input to a body member thus allowing the reinforcing member to properly exhibit a reinforcing effect, and a method of manufacturing the reinforced structural body. An oil pan includes a body member made of a resin which has a plurality of fixing portions to be fixed to a counterpart member which is a fixing object, a reinforcing member which is integrally formed with the body member and has higher rigidity than the body member, and a plurality of bushings which have a higher yield stress than the body member and are fixed to the plurality of fixing portions respectively, wherein the reinforcing member extends between the plurality of bushings so as to connect the plurality of bushings.

OIL PAN ASSEMBLY

An oil pan assembly for an engine may include: an oil pan mounted at a lower portion of a cylinder block of the engine and formed with a space therein, in which oil can be stored; and a support bracket mounted at one side of the oil pan for coupling with an air conditioner compressor or a transmission. In particular, a protrusion portion is formed at an upper surface of the support bracket and upwardly protruded.

The teachings herein are related to assemblies, such as oil pan assemblies, including a laminate bottom portion and a nut attached to the laminate bottom portion. The nut may provide a sealable opening to a cavity of the assembly. The laminate bottom portion preferably includes a polymeric layer sandwiched between two metallic layers. The nut preferably is a clinch nut.

Oil pan assembly

The oil pan assembly includes an oil pan and a slideable cover. The oil pan includes a base and a sidewall which surrounds the base wherein the base and the sidewall are configured to retain a pool of oil. The oil pan further includes a peripheral flange operatively configured to be coupled to an engine block. The slideable cover is affixed to the oil pan and is configured to maintain the pool of oil proximate to the base of the oil pan.

Oil Pan

An oil pan disposed underneath an engine of a motorcycle and configured to reserve engine oil includes a shallow bottom portion and a deep bottom portion formed to extend in a front-rear direction of the motorcycle substantially at a center in a left-right direction of the motorcycle of the shallow bottom portion, and to become deeper than the shallow bottom portion, and in which a space defined in the left-right direction of the motorcycle between both side wall portions of the deep bottom portion that face each other in the left-right direction of the motorcycle is formed to increase as the deep bottom portion extends from a front toward a rear thereof with respect to the motorcycle.
