Oil funnel
11459919 · 2022-10-04 ·

An oil funnel for use in draining the oil from an automotive engine oil pan. The upper end of the oil funnel is selectively magnetically attached to the bottom of the oil pan around the drain plug thereof. The oil funnel has a semi-circular slot formed therein. A flexible tubular member, having an open outer end and a closed inner end, is positioned in the oil funnel inwardly of the slot. The user of the oil funnel may insert the user's thumb, index finger and perhaps the user's middle finger inwardly through the slot and into the interior of the tubular member whereby the user may remove the drain plug from the oil pan without coming into direct contact with the drain plug. The flexible tubular member prevents the draining oil from coming into contact with the user's hand.

Sealing structure

[Problem to be Solved] To improve operability in detaching a sealing member. [Solution] A sealing structure 10 according to the present invention includes a main body 30a, a female thread part 20h fixed to the main body 30a, the female thread part 20h being screwed into a discharge hole 20c of a drain plug fastening part 20 by the main body 30a being rotated in a normal rotation direction, and an elastically deformable arm part 30c, one end of which is joined to the main body 30a. A concave part 20e is formed in the drain plug fastening part 20 and a claw part 30g is formed in the arm part 30c. When the main body 30a is rotated in the normal rotation direction, the arm part 30c is elastically deformed while a part of the arm part 30c slides on a top surface 20d of the drain plug fastening part 20 until the main body 30a is rotated to a predetermined rotational position and, when the main body 30a is rotated to the predetermined rotational position, the claw part 30g fits in the concave part 20e and the elastic deformation of the arm part 30c is released, whereby the rotation of the main body 30a from the predetermined rotational position is prevented. When the main body 30a is rotated in a reverse rotation direction from the predetermined rotational position, the claw part 30g slides on and climbs over a first wall part 20f of the concave part 20e while the arm part 30c is elastically deformed, whereby the prevention of the rotation of the main body 30a from the predetermined rotational position is released. The claw part 30g or the concave part 20e is formed such that, when the main body 30a is rotated in the reverse rotation direction and the claw part 30g is sliding on the first wall part 20f, an angle A formed by a direction of force applied to the arm part 30c from the drain plug fastening part 20 and a straight line connecting a contact part of the claw part 30g and the first wall part 20f and a rotation center of the main body 30a is smaller than 90 degrees when viewed in a rotation center direction of the main body 30a.

Access port for a fluid system

An access port for a fluid system having a sidewall defining a fluid cavity is provided. A probe receiver, having an inner passage with a valve seat and a chamber adjacent to the valve seat and in fluid communication with the inner passage, is connected to the sidewall of the fluid system. The chamber has an opening in communication with the fluid cavity and a valve member biased to a seated position that moves within the chamber to an unseated position. A probe is connected to the probe receiver and extends through the inner fluid passage of the probe receiver into the chamber. When the probe body is inserted into the probe receiver it moves the valve member to the unseated position and the valve member and a portion of the probe body traverse the opening. When the probe body is removed, the valve member returns to the seated position.

The evacuation system includes a first quick connect fitting configured to mate with a quick connect valve of a vehicle. The refill system includes a second quick connect fitting configured to mate with the quick connect valve of the vehicle. The control circuit is coupled to the evacuation system, the refill system and the one or more sensors, and is configured to automatically identify the vehicle, determine a type, a viscosity and a volume of oil associated with the vehicle and control a volume of new oil added to the vehicle.

LIQUID FILTER ARRANGEMENT FOR NO-MESS LIQUID CHANGE
20220074326 · 2022-03-10 ·

An easily serviceable liquid filter assembly having a housing with a drain to provide draining of fluid (e.g., liquid) from the housing. The filter assembly has a fluid inlet to receive dirty fluid into the housing, a fluid outlet to expel filtered fluid from the housing, and a drain, when open, to expel unfiltered (dirty) fluid from the housing. By removing a cover from the housing, the filter element opens the drain so that all fluid in the housing can be directly collected or can flow into the oil pan to be collected with the fluid present in the pan. All fluid, now in the drain pan, can be drained and collected in a disposable container such as a plastic pouch, which can be recycled. The filter element can be removed from the housing via the removed cover.

Oil drain system for a generator engine

A standby generator having an engine with oil drain tube that facilitates removal of engine oil from the standby generator is disclosed. The standby generator includes an enclosure comprising a plurality of sidewalls, with an opening formed in one of the sidewalls, and an engine positioned within the enclosure. The engine further includes an oil drain and an oil drain tube having a first end coupled to the oil drain and a second end that opens and closes to selectively drain oil from the engine, the oil drain tube being positionable so as to extend out through the opening. The opening in the one of the sidewalls is lower than the oil drain, such that the oil drain tube is positioned with a downward angle when extending from the oil drain and out of the enclosure through the opening.
