Assemblies and methods for controlling lubrication for rotary engine apex seals

An assembly includes a rotor housing, a first rotor, a lubrication system, a first vibration sensor, and an engine control system. The rotor housing forms a first rotor cavity. The first rotor is configured for rotation within the first rotor cavity. The first rotor includes the plurality of apex seals. The lubrication system is configured to supply a lubrication flow for lubrication of the plurality of apex seals. The first vibration sensor is on the rotor housing. The first vibration sensor is configured to generate a vibration measurement signal. The engine control system includes a processor in communication with a non-transitory memory storing instructions, which instructions when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: identify that the vibration measurement signal exceeds a first vibration threshold, and increase a flow rate of the lubrication flow based on an identification of the vibration measurement signal exceeding the first vibration threshold.

DEVICE FOR SUPPLYING AN OIL TANK FROM A SECOND TANK

An evaluation of the oil level of an aircraft engine tank from doses of oil delivered from another tank by a pump can be checked by comparing the evaluation of the volume provided by a sensor associated with the engine tank with an estimation of the volume extracted from the aircraft rank, either by another level sensor associated with this tank, or directly from the control of the pump. This comparison is made by a module capable of notifying staff of the need to check or maintain the device, and in particular to check if the sensor is operating correctly. Application to aeronautics, in particular to devices wherein a single aircraft tank supplies all the engine tanks.

Oil supply system for an internal combustion engine

Oil supply system for an internal combustion engine, whereby an internal oil pan is arranged in the internal combustion engine, whereby the oil supply system has an additional external oil reservoir which is arranged outside the internal combustion engine compared to the internal oil pan of the internal combustion engine, whereby a supply line to be connected to the internal combustion engine is provided, which leads to a filling opening of the oil reservoir, and whereby a return line to be connected to the internal combustion engine is provided, through which oil can be returned from the oil reservoir to the internal combustion engine, whereby the return line is connected to the oil reservoir and whereby the oil reservoir has at least one oil tank, whereby a removal opening of the return line is arranged near or in the base of the at least one oil tank.

An engine includes a crankcase in which a crank chamber that houses a crankshaft is formed, a cylinder block that is attached to the crankcase, and a cylinder that is formed with a sliding surface with respect to a piston. The crankcase includes a partition wall that forms the crank chamber. A lower end of the cylinder protrudes into the crank chamber from a lower end of the cylinder block, and a communicating hole that connects inside and outside of the cylinder is formed on a side surface of the cylinder as viewed in an axial direction of the crankshaft. The partition wall is formed with an opening that is communicated with the communicating hole.

Oil Container Of A Combustion Engine

An oil container of a combustion engine. Oil collected in the oil container can be, conveyed to the combustion engine and back into the oil container, having a central oil chamber out of which oil can be suctioned and lateral oil chambers positioned either obliquely above or obliquely below the central oil chamber depending on an oblique position of the oil container. Oil is directed to the lateral oil chambers from the combustion engine, and depending on the oblique position of the oil container, the central oil chamber can be coupled to a first lateral oil chamber that is adjacent to the central oil chamber on a first side of the central oil chamber, or to a second lateral oil chamber that is adjacent to the central oil chamber on a second side of the central oil chamber, via a respective passively controlled check valve.

Lube oil replenishment for compressors

A first lube oil is stored by a lube oil reservoir. The first lube oil is flowed from the lube oil reservoir through a tubing network connected to a crankcase of a reciprocating compressor. A second lube oil is stored by a cylinder lubricator oil reservoir. The second lube oil is flowed from the cylinder lubricator oil reservoir to a cylinder lubricator that is connected to cylinders of the reciprocating compressor. A liquid level in the cylinder lubricator oil reservoir is measured. Based on the measured liquid level, at least a portion of the first lube oil from the tubing network is flowed to the cylinder lubricator oil reservoir through an intermediate flowline connecting the tubing network to the cylinder lubricator oil reservoir.

Device and method for filling an oil reservoir of an aircraft engine

In order to fill a reservoir while avoiding laborious manual filling operations, there is added to the existing device, including a supply duct, a pump and a measuring probe, a stop valve designed to interrupt the filling as soon as the desired level has been reached, which is detected for example by an air intake which controls the closure of the valve. Two level indicators are added and make it possible to ascertain either that optimum filling has been achieved or that a malfunction is present in the system. Application to the systems for oil filling of aircraft engine reservoirs from another reservoir arranged within the aircraft, generally common to all the engines.
