VIDEO-BASED MOTION COUNTING AND ANALYSIS SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VIRTUAL FITNESS APPLICATION
20220203165 · 2022-06-30 ·

A system and method for implementing a virtual fitness application are disclosed. Embodiments may be built for various platforms, including web browsers and mobile phones. One embodiment uses pose estimation to count the repetitive motions of a fitness activity (e.g., running). In one embodiment, to count the repetitive motions, a repetitive motion counting process is used that is based on computing differences of Y-coordinates of key points of the user. The repetitive motion counting process includes selecting a proper pose of the user; computing one or more delta values (corresponding to Y-coordinate changes of the key points); and counting a given user movement as a repetitive motion based on a function (e.g., average) of the delta values. One embodiment uses the pose estimation and repetitive motion count results to provide a gamified experience, for example, a leaderboard, a stats report, instant visual feedback, badges, coins, and a social experience.

A display system for a sporting event includes a display base, a first set of display items affixable to said display base, and a second set of display items affixable to said display base. A first type of information relevant to the sporting event is presentable on the first set of display items and a second type of information relevant to the sporting event is presentable on the second set of display items. The first type of information is different from the second type of information.

Rank Listing of Competitive Performances of Exercise on a Machine

Among other things, a processor executes instructions to: update, in real time during a current instance of an exercise activity by a subject competitor, a graphical user interface displayed on a display device, the display device being included in a first exercise machine operated by the subject competitor or included in a mobile electronic device. The graphical user interface includes: a ranking of the subject competitor and a second competitor based on (i) a projected performance metric of the subject competitor over a predefined scope of the exercise activity compared to (ii) a historical performance metric of the second competitor over the predefined scope of the exercise activity in a previous instance of the exercise activity, an illustration of a margin between the historical performance metric of the second competitor and the projected performance metric for the subject competitor, and an illustration of the projected performance metric.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REAL-TIME TRACKING OF ATHLETES ACROSS GEOGRAPHICALLY SEPARATED VENUES

Object tracking systems are remotely linked to facilitate real-time competition between athletes in geographically separated, or remote, venues. Athletes wear tracking tags that are monitored by receivers in each venue to generate digital tracking data for the athletes. A local tracking system at each venue receives digital tracking data from other venues and uses it to drive a pacing system or ribbon board display so that the relative performance of athletes in different venues can be observed in real time. Alternatively, the local tracking system can output the data to a large-screen display or webcast so that attendees at the local venue can view the competition in real-time.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR TRANSMITTING DATA OVER A WIRELESS NETWORK
20230262008 · 2023-08-17 ·

An aspect of the invention provides a method of transmitting data over a wireless network. The method includes maintaining a plurality of data packets within a first buffer and encoding at least some of the data packets within the first buffer inside a first broadcast packet. A broadcasting device transmits the first broadcast packet over the wireless network. The method further includes maintaining a plurality of data packets within a second buffer and encoding at least some of the data packets within the second buffer inside a second broadcast packet. The broadcasting device transmits the second broadcast packet over the wireless network. The method further includes, on detecting overflow of the first buffer, removing a data packet from the first buffer and adding the removed data packet to the second buffer.

Method and device for providing a person with training data of an athlete as the athlete is performing a running workout

An athlete tracking system and method for tracking an athlete during training sessions. The system includes a mobile tracking device wearable around a portion of the athlete's head, and a training log server for maintaining an athlete profile that includes a training record updatable by the athlete and a training plan supplied by a coach.

Exercise system and method

An exercise machine includes a processor, a display, a deck, and a belt rotatable about the deck. The machine also includes a sensor operably connected to the processor and configured to detect a performance parameter associated with a belt of the exercise machine. In implementations described herein, the performance parameter may be disregarded when it is determined that a user is not on the belt.

IMMERSIVE INTERACTIVE SPORTS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF

Described herein are computerized methods and systems for enabling remote participation in sporting event decision-making. A current game situation in a sporting event is received by a server from a remote device. The server retrieves plays applicable to the current game situation from a playbook. The server generates a playcall UI comprising the retrieved play categories and plays and transmits the playcall UI to fan computing devices. The server receives a vote for one of the plays from the fan computing devices. The server determines a selected play based on the received votes. The server transmits the selected play to player computing devices associated with players involved in the sporting event, wherein the players execute the selected play. The current game situation is updated at the remote device based upon an outcome of the selected play.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INCENTIVIZING A MASS PARTICIPATION SPORT
20230241479 · 2023-08-03 ·

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for determining and conveying a coupon amount for players and fans of a mass participation sport. A server receives an indication of a given sport team achieving a milestone (e.g. goal scored) during a game (e.g. road hockey), and increments a milestone count for the given sport team. According to an embodiment of the disclosure, the server determines at least one coupon amount (e.g. gift card at retailer) for players and fans of the given sport team based on the milestone count for the given sport team, and sends at least one message conveying the at least one coupon amount. In this way, the players and fans of the given sport team can become informed of the at least one coupon amount earned upon the milestone being achieved, thereby inciting excitement in their involvement with the given sport team by being “paid to play”.
