Athletic performance and technique monitoring
Methods and apparatuses for athletic performance and technique monitoring are disclosed. In one example, a sensor output is received associated with a movement of a user torso during a running motion. The sensor output is analyzed to identify an undesirable torso motion.
Wave generating system
A wave generating system is provided. The system includes an enclosure having a base and plurality of sidewalls extending orthogonally upward from edges thereon, wherein a plurality of pistons are disposed over the surface area of the base therein. A covering layer of a waterproof and flexible construction is pivotally affixed to a top end of the plurality of pistons and attached to the plurality of sidewalls. The plurality of pistons is operably connected to a circuit board disposed within a control panel via a grid connection and programmed to create patterns and contours in the covering layer via the plurality of pistons. The patterns of ocean floor conditions ideal for surfing, as well as other geometric patterns, may be programmed and operated using a display screen or remote control.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A CONFIGURABLE TRAINING SYSTEM
Systems, methods, and media for a configurable training system are provided. The configurable training system can include a controller and one or more configurable training devices. The configurable training device can include a housing, a cover coupled to a front surface of the housing, a sensor located within the housing to detect an impact, an indicator located within the housing and configured to emit light, and communication circuitry coupled with the indicator and the sensor. The communication circuitry may be coupled with the controller. The configurable training system may be adapted to various athletic training equipment or other equipment for physical activity.
System and method for improving a basketball player's shooting through a shots-made challenge
Systems and methods for assisting a user with creating a custom shots-made basketball practice arrangement are provided. A detector detects made basketball shots. A user interface receives a user selection of a subset of pass receipt locations for a custom shots-made basketball practice arrangement located about a basketball playing surface. A control system receives data indicating the user selection and a number of shots to be made and commands an ejector to launch basketballs to a particular one of the pass receipt locations in the subset until data is received indicating that the selected number of shots to be made are made at the particular one of said plurality of pass receipt locations, cease launching the basketballs to the particular one of the pass receipt locations, and begins launching basketballs to a second particular one of the pass receipt locations in said subset.
Swing analysis method and swing analysis device
A swing analysis method includes acquiring measurement data measured by an inertial sensor in a swing motion with a golf club, and calculating torque data indicating a temporal change of a torque exerted on the golf club by analyzing the measurement data using a head speed coordination system having a first axis including a speed vector of a head of the golf club, a second axis being orthogonal to the first axis and extending along a shaft of the golf club, and a third axis orthogonal to both the first axis and the second axis.
MOTION DATA MONITORING METHOD AND APPARATUS
The motion data monitoring method includes: collecting, by an electronic device, an angular velocity signal and an acceleration signal of a user; obtaining, by the electronic device, a waveform feature of the angular velocity signal based on the angular velocity signal, and obtaining a waveform feature of the acceleration signal based on the acceleration signal; determining, by the electronic device, a gait feature of the user according to the waveform feature of the angular velocity signal and the waveform feature of the acceleration signal, where the gait feature includes a duration of flight from off-ground of a foot of the user to touching of the ground; and determining, by the electronic device, motion data according to the gait feature, where the motion data includes a jump height.
Tennis racket sensor system and coaching device
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to devices, systems, and methods for implementing drills and providing coaching instructions to users. Embodiments may load a drill, measure values obtained from one or more sensors installed on a player's tennis racket and/or worn on the player's body, and use those values to detect various parameters, such as the physical impact of a ball at the player's racket. Embodiments may then output a coaching instruction to the user. Embodiments may also include adding customized coaching instructions to a drill.
Handheld Exercise Device
A handheld exercise device is an apparatus that enables the user to exercise the upper body due to the load applied on the user's arms from the centripetal force created by moving the apparatus using one or two hands. To do so, the apparatus may include an O-ring housing, a crossbar, a bearing assembly, and a control system. The O-ring housing is designed to retain the bearing assembly in such a way that the user can move the bearing assembly in a circular motion within the O-ring housing. The crossbar facilitates the handling of the O-ring housing with one or two hands in order for the user to move the bearing assembly in a circular motion within the O-ring housing. The control system helps the user keep track of the movement of the bearing assembly so that the user can measure the exercise progress while handling the apparatus.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING A RESISTANCE OF A WHEEL OF A STATIONARY BICYCLE
A device and method for estimating a resistance of a wheel of a bicycle is disclosed. The device includes a mounting bracket, a disk, and a resistance adjustment knob. The mounting bracket is coupled to the bicycle. The disk is configured to indicate the resistance. The disk is located within the mounting bracket. The resistance adjustment knob is connected to the disk via a connector. Upon rotation of the knob, the connector rotates the disk for estimating the resistance of the wheel of the bicycle. The determined estimated resistance is visible on the disk.
Basketball performance monitoring system
A system for creating and viewing indexed video snippets of a series of shots toward a goal comprising at least one sensor directly connected to a microprocessor, the microprocessor configured to trigger responsive to a ball-shooting detection of at least one of the series of shots toward the goal; electronic times that represent the accurate timing of a triggering event related to the ball-shooting detection; one or more video recordings captured by at least one recording source; wherein the electronic times are utilized to associate portions of the one or more video recordings with corresponding shots toward the goal; the associated portions are stored as separate video snippets; and the video snippets are indexed by the corresponding shots toward the goal.
