A system includes an exercise machine and a computing device coupled to the exercise machine. The computing device presents a metrics bar within a graphical user interface in an initial state, detects a start of a first workout experience by a user on the exercise machine, retrieve a first set of metrics from stored user preferences data based on a workout experience type, workout type, and exercise machine type of the first workout experience, and displays the first set of metrics in a display area of the metrics bar during the first workout experience. The computing device detects a start of a second workout experience, determines a second set of metrics from the stored user preferences data based on a workout experience type, workout type, and exercise machine type of the second workout experience, and displays the second set of metrics in the metrics bar during the second workout experience.

A tennis ball retriever for retrieving a tennis ball on and about a tennis court and for controllably releasing the ball includes a front-end ball collector having two spaced-apart blades defining a ball collection space. The retriever includes a means for gripping and securing a ball positioned at the fore end, and one or more detents for retaining the collected ball in the collection space until a programmed or manually-directed release toward a target location such as a tennis baseline. A method and system for limiting the amount of screentime available to a child device based on the activity of a user of the child device. A parent device is used to specify activity threshold(s) and associate them with an amount of screentime. A wearable activity sensor provides activity data that is converted to a screentime value. An available screentime value is decremented as screentime is used on the child device. When the available screentime value reaches zero, access to functions or apps on the child device is disabled.

A system and method for networking fitness machines for allowing an instructor to control various settings for a plurality of exercise machines simultaneously, and for allowing an individual user and/or trainer to modify the settings of an individual exercise machine. The system and method for networking fitness machines generally includes a trainer remote control device, one or more machine-mounted onboard trainer controllers, and a machine-mounted onboard user controller. The trainer remote control device may be securely mounted to the arm of a trainer so that the trainer's hands remain free to instruct exercisers. The trainer remote control device includes a touch screen that displays selections corresponding to various settings on the exercise machines. The trainer remote control communicates with the plurality of exercise machines via a wireless network or Bluetooth connection allowing the trainer to change the settings of a plurality of exercise machines in a class mode simultaneously.
