METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR AN EXHAUST TUNING VALVE
Methods and systems are provided for an exhaust tuning valve. In one example, a method may include adjusting the exhaust tuning valve in response to a steering wheel angle input. Additionally or alternatively, the position of the exhaust tuning valve may be adjusted differently in response to a same steering wheel angle input during different driving behaviors.

The silencing device comprises a silencing valve, which intercepts the exhaust duct and is movable between a completely open position and a completely closed position. In the completely closed position, the silencing valve has a first free section for the passage of the exhaust gases having a first area other than zero, so that the exhaust gases can flow through the silencing valve even when the silencing valve is in the completely closed position.
Exhaust valve damper
A snap-action valve assembly for an exhaust system is provided with a conduit that defines an exhaust passageway. A valve flap is disposed within the exhaust passageway for controlling exhaust flow. A shaft supports the valve flap in the exhaust passageway and allows the valve flap to rotate between closed and open positions. A mass damper, positioned outside the conduit, includes a longitudinal segment that is rotatably coupled to the shaft and that extends between first and second coiled ends. The longitudinal segment includes an inboard side and an outboard side. The first and second coiled ends include a series of overlapping layers arranged in either a folded serpentine shape or a spiral shape.

Exhaust system having tunable exhaust sound
The disclosed inventive concept provides a further achievement in efforts to produce a tunable exhaust sound for a vehicle. The system provides a tunable exhaust system including a tunable resonator and a pair of tunable mufflers. The tunable resonator includes a housing including first, second and third expansion chambers. A pair of bank-by-bank exhaust conduits extends through the housing. At least one of the conduits includes a band of peripheral perforations within the first expansion chamber. The band is formed at an angle relative to the long axis of the conduit on which it is formed. The mufflers include inlet and outlet pipes. At least one of the outlet pipes includes a variable exhaust gas flow assembly. The variable exhaust gas flow assembly includes a vane shaft, an exhaust gas regulating vane attached to the vane shaft, and a vane actuator for regulating the position of the vane shaft.

DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING EXHAUST SOUND OF VEHICLE
A device for controlling an exhaust sound of a vehicle includes a sound tunnel mounted near a muffler and an exhaust pipe so as to transmit exhaust sound to an interior of a vehicle, a sound introduction hole formed in the sound tunnel, and a catalytic assembly mounted in the sound tunnel so as to clog the sound introduction hole, the catalytic assembly functioning to reduce high-frequency noise and to filter exhaust gas, thereby reducing high-frequency noise included in the exhaust sound transmitted to the interior of the vehicle and thereby filtering the exhaust gas so as to prevent introduction of the exhaust gas into the interior of the vehicle.
Exhaust device for internal combustion engine
An exhaust muffler includes a first muffler section connected to an exhaust pipe and a second muffler section connected to the first muffler section. Exhaust gases delivered from the exhaust pipe are discharged from the first muffler section and the second muffler section out of the exhaust muffler. The first muffler section includes a tubular member made up of an inner pipe to which the exhaust pipe is connected and an outer pipe covering the inner pipe, and a connector connecting the tubular member and the second muffler section to each other. The first muffler section has a first expansion chamber defined therein between the inner pipe and the outer pipe. The inner pipe houses therein a valve for changing an amount of exhaust gases passing through the inner pipe. The first muffler section includes a curved portion that is curved vertically as viewed in side elevation of the vehicle. The exhaust muffler has a second expansion chamber defined in the second muffler section rearward and upward of the first muffler section, the second expansion chamber having a cross-sectional area larger than a cross-sectional area of the first expansion chamber. There is thus provided an exhaust device for an internal combustion engine, which includes a muffler compact in a longitudinal direction thereof.
