Process to capture SO.SUB.x .onboard vehicles and ships
Provided is a process that may comprise cooling an engine exhaust emissions comprising SO.sub.x on a vehicle that may come from an engine. The cooled engine exhaust emissions comprising SO.sub.x may be passed to one or more absorption units. The SO.sub.x may be extracted from the engine exhaust emissions with a sorbent supported on solid porous media in an absorption unit on the vehicle to form an absorbed SO.sub.x. The absorbed SO.sub.x may be desorbed, followed by forming one or more SO.sub.x product from the desorbed SO.sub.x. The one or more SO.sub.x product may be unloaded to an off-vehicle facility.
Cooling water control apparatus
A cooling water control apparatus has a setting device which sets a target heat amount line such that a condition where a transferred heat amount which is transferred to a heater core is equal to a required heat amount which is required by the heater core is satisfied at a desired time point at which the transferred heat amount starts to be actually used, the target heat amount line representing a successive target value of the transferred heat amount during a period until the desired time point; and a first controlling device which makes a cooling water circulate in a first pipe, stops the circulation of the cooling water in a second pipe and adjusts an output of an engine such that the transferred heat amount follows the target heat amount line.
Water recovery device
A water recovery device includes: an exhaust gas pipe that is connected to a combustion device; a water generation unit that generates water by cooling exhaust gas in the exhaust gas pipe to condense water vapor in the exhaust gas; and a water container that stores water generated by the water generation unit. The water generation unit includes: an acoustic-wave generator that generates acoustic waves by absorbing heat from the exhaust gas pipe and giving the heat to working fluid, which transmits acoustic waves by oscillating, to cause the working fluid to oscillate; a transmission pipe that is internally filled with the working fluid and transmits acoustic waves generated by the acoustic-wave generator; and a cold-heat generator that generates cold heat to supply the cold heat to the exhaust gas pipe by receiving acoustic waves transmitted through the transmission pipe and giving heat to the acoustic waves.
HEAT EXCHANGER FOR A RANKINE CYCLE IN A VEHICLE MUFFLER
A vehicle is provided with an engine having an exhaust gas system comprising a muffler body containing a valve controlling exhaust gas flow through a tuning tube. The vehicle has an expander, a condenser, a pump, and an evaporator in sequential fluid communication in a closed loop containing a working fluid. The evaporator is positioned within the body and supports the valve and tuning tube therein, with the evaporator in thermal contact with exhaust gas and the working fluid.
Cooling system for vehicle and controlling method thereof
A cooling system for a vehicle may include a cooling water temperature sensor, a cooling circulation fluid passage including first, second and third fluid passages, wherein the cooling water exhausted from the engine may be branched into the first fluid passage provided with a heater core, the second fluid passage provided with a radiator, and the third fluid passage provided with an exhaust heat recovery apparatus, a fluid flow adjusting valve provided on a point at which the cooling water passing through the cooling water temperature sensor may be branched into the first fluid passage to the third fluid passage to adjust a flow of the cooling water, and a controlling part controlling the first fluid passage to the third fluid passage to be selectively opened or closed by operating the fluid flow adjusting valve depending on the temperature of the cooling water, in a heating mode and a non-heating mode.
Onboard heater of auxiliary systems using exhaust gases and associated methods
An exhaust energy recovery system (EERS) and associated methods for an engine are disclosed. An embodiment of an EERS, for example, includes an inlet duct that is configured to divert exhaust gas from an exhaust duct of the engine into the recovery system and an outlet duct configured to return the exhaust gas to the exhaust duct downstream of the inlet duct. The recovery system is configured to heat components or fluids associated with engine to operating temperatures. The recovery system may be part of a mobile power system that is mounted to a single trailer and includes an engine and a power unit such as a high pressure pump or generator mounted to the trailer. Methods of operating and purging recovery systems are also disclosed.
FUEL SUPPLY DEVICE FOR SUPPLYING A FUEL AND INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The disclosure relates to a fuel supply device for supplying a fuel to an internal combustion engine comprising: a fuel store for storing a primary fuel; and at least two parallel fuel supply paths that are connected to the fuel store, on the one hand, and to the internal combustion engine, on the other hand, wherein the primary fuel can be supplied from the fuel store to the internal combustion engine by means of the first fuel supply path for the purpose of combustion, and the second fuel supply path has at least one reforming device that reforms the primary fuel supplied from the fuel tank into a secondary fuel, and to supply at least a portion of the produced secondary fuel to the internal combustion engine for the purpose of combustion.
Compact device for exhaust gas management in an EGR system
The present invention is a compact device for exhaust gas management in an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system configured for occupying a smaller space with respect to the space commonly occupied by a set of elements present in an EGR system, which device is suitable for being coupled to a PF or DPF filter (PF is the abbreviation for particulate filter and DPF is the abbreviation for diesel particulate filter), whichever is appropriate.
EXHAUST SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE OF A VEHICLE
An exhaust system, especially for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, includes an exhaust gas-carrying duct (14) and a reactant injection device (20) for injecting reactant (R) into exhaust gas (A) flowing in the exhaust gas-carrying duct (14). Downstream of the reactant injection device (20), a mixer device (22) supports the mixing of reactant (R) injected by the reactant injection device (20) with exhaust gas (A) flowing in the exhaust gas-carrying duct (14). Downstream of the reactant injection device (20) and upstream of the mixer device (22), a reactant heating device (24) extends in the exhaust gas-carrying duct (14). The exhaust gas (A) flows in and reactant (R) injected through the reactant injection device (20) flow around the heating device (24).
