A method that determines a cause for the impaired performance of a catalytic configuration of the exhaust gas of a combustion engine (231), the method including determining (s410) a course of a NOx-conversion ratio; determining (s420) a prevailing temperature of the catalytic configuration; increasing (s430) the temperature of the catalytic configuration from a prevailing temperature below a predetermined temperature value (Te) to a temperature (TSred) above the predetermined temperature value above which sulphur is removed from the catalytic configuration; and/or decreasing (s440) the temperature of the catalytic configuration from a prevailing temperature (TSred) above the predetermined temperature value (Te) to a temperature below the predetermined temperature value so as to impair the performance of the catalytic configuration in case sulphur is present; and determining (s450) one cause out of a set of causes on the basis of the course of the NOx-conversion ratio thus determined.
AN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM
An exhaust aftertreatment system for an internal combustion engine includes an outer casing having an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet between which a fluid flow path for exhaust gases is provided, a selective catalytic reduction unit provided in the fluid flow path for reducing nitrogen oxides, a reductant dosing device for adding reductant to the exhaust flow upstream of the selective catalytic reduction unit, and a rotatable mixer device for mixing the reductant with exhaust gases upstream of the selective catalytic reduction unit, an air inlet valve provided upstream of the mixer device for introducing air into the fluid flow path, and an electric motor arranged for rotating the mixer device to create a suction of air into the fluid flow path via the air inlet valve.

A computer-implemented system for monitoring the performance of an aftertreatment component in an exhaust system of a power generation system utilizes a remaining useful life (RUL) algorithm to predict its remaining operational life until it must be regenerated by a desulfation process. The RUL algorithm can utilize values such as a current sulfur accumulation value representing the quantity of sulfur currently accumulated in the aftertreatment component, a sulfur accumulation threshold representing the quantity sulfur the aftertreatment component can operationally retain, and an instantaneous sulfur accumulation rate of change representing the current rate at which the aftertreatment component retains sulfur.
Selective catalytic reduction catalyst on a filter substrate
A selective catalytic reduction catalyst for the treatment of an exhaust gas stream of a passive ignition engine, the catalyst comprising a porous wall-flow filter substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end, a substrate axial length (w) extending between the inlet end and the outlet end, and a plurality of passages defined by porous internal walls of the porous wall flow filter substrate; wherein the catalyst further comprises a first coating, said first coating extending over x % of the substrate axial length from the inlet end toward the outlet end of the substrate, x being in the range of from 10 to 100, wherein the first coating comprises copper and an 8-membered ring pore zeolitic material; wherein the catalyst further comprises a second coating, the second coating extending over y % of the substrate axial length from the outlet end toward the inlet end of the substrate, y being in the range of from 20 to 90, wherein the second coating comprises copper, and optionally an 8-membered ring pore zeolitic material; wherein the catalyst optionally further comprises a third coating; wherein x+y is at least 90; wherein y % of w from the outlet end toward the inlet end of the substrate define the outlet zone of the coated substrate and (100−y) % of w from the inlet end toward the outlet end of the substrate define the inlet zone of the coated substrate; wherein the ratio of the loading of copper in the inlet zone, Cu(in), calculated as CuO, relative to the loading of copper in the outlet zone, Cu(out), calculated as CuO, Cu(in):Cu(out), is less than 1:1.

A controlling method of vehicle exhaust gas recirculation, an apparatus and an electronic device are provided in vehicle field. Before the GPF/DPF starts to work, controlling the EGR to cool the temperature of the recycled gas at a lowest gas temperature required being entranced into the engine; and after the GPF/DPF starts to work, according to a gas temperature change and an intake flow change of an air intake of the EGR, adjusting an opening of a valve arranged in a vent of the EGR and a working power of a pump arranged in a liquid duct of the EGR, for making the EGR to cool the gas recycled by the EGR in a safe temperature range required by the engine. The controlling method is associated controlled with a cooling system of the EGR, for ensuring the recycled exhaust gas temperature and the EGR rate in a suitable range.
Exhaust system
An exhaust system for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle includes an exhaust gas pipe, at least one branch pipe branching off from the exhaust gas pipe, for example, a pressure pipe (22), as well as at least one support device (38) supporting at least one branch pipe in relation to an exhaust system component.
