APPARATUS FOR REDUCING GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSION IN VESSEL COOPERATED WITH EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION AND VESSEL INCLUDING THE SAME
The present invention relates to an apparatus for reducing greenhouse gas emission in a vessel cooperated with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), and a vessel including the same, in which NO.sub.x generation is reduced, which is the original purpose of EGR, while maintaining existing EGR, SO.sub.x as well as CO.sub.2, which is the representative greenhouse gas, are absorbed and converted into materials that do not affect environments, and the materials are discharged or stored as useful materials, thereby preventing corrosion of an engine and improving combustion efficiency.
Applied-Ignition Internal Combustion Engine and Method for Operating the Internal Combustion Engine
An applied-ignition internal combustion engine includes first and second combustion chambers, an exhaust-gas system with an exhaust-gas purification system is disposed at the first and second combustion chambers, and an exhaust-gas manifold. An exhaust gas from a combustion of a fuel/air mixture firstly flows through the exhaust-gas manifold and subsequently flows through the exhaust-gas purification system. A first section of the exhaust-gas system from the first combustion chamber to the exhaust-gas purification system is cooled more than a second section of the exhaust-gas system from the second combustion chamber to the exhaust-gas purification system. The first combustion chamber is operated with a lean fuel/air mixture, the second combustion chamber is operated with a rich fuel/air mixture, and an overall exhaust-gas lambda value at an inlet into the exhaust-gas purification system is stoichiometric.
OIL CASE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OIL CASE
This oil case of an outboard motor is provided below an engine and stores lubricating oil of the engine. In this method for manufacturing the oil case, the oil case is manufactured so as to comprise: an oil chamber; an introduction path that guides upward cooling supply water drawn in from outside the outboard motor; a delivery path that guides downward cooling discharge water that has cooled the engine; a main exhaust path that guides exhaust gas of the engine downward; and a sub exhaust path that guides exhaust gas during low-speed rotation of the engine. The oil chamber, the introduction path, the delivery path, the main exhaust path and the sub exhaust path form an integral structure.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GAS DISPOSAL
A method for controlling the saturation level of gas in a liquid discharge includes obtaining temperature and pressure measurements of a solvent in a mixing vessel and obtaining a pressure measurement of a source feedstock in a feedstock tank, correlating the temperature and pressure measurements of the solvent to baseline data to generate a theoretical uptake rate for the source feedstock into the solvent and a theoretical flow rate of the source feedstock into the mixing vessel, and determining a required opening setting for a feedstock valve in the feedstock input line in order to achieve a desired liquid displacement in the mixing vessel. The method includes determining an uptake duration and achieving an uptake displacement equivalent to the reverse of the desired liquid displacement. The method includes generating a valve operating control law for how the feedstock valve should function in a cycle.

Durable high performance water-cooled exhaust systems and components
An exhaust component for an engine exhaust system includes a conduit for carrying exhaust gases, an outer wall, a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a pattern of internal support structures. The conduit, outer wall, and internal support structures are formed from an additive material using an additive manufacturing process. A water cavity is defined between the conduit and the outer wall. The fluid inlet and outlet are in fluid communication with the water cavity. The pattern of internal support structures are integral with the conduit and with the outer wall, are disposed in the water cavity, and are arranged such that fluid flows from the fluid inlet through, between, or around the internal support structures to the fluid outlet. The fluid and its flow through the water cavity is adapted to absorb heat from hot exhaust gases flowing through the conduit during operation of the engine exhaust system.
