In certain examples, the exhaust system includes a muffler having an exhaust inlet and an exhaust outlet. The exhaust system also includes a housing disposed around the muffler. The housing includes, in certain examples, a first exhaust opening disposed adjacent the exhaust outlet and configured to receive exhaust gasses from the exhaust outlet and direct the exhaust gasses away from the exhaust system in a normal operating mode, and a second exhaust opening configured to draw in ambient air in the normal operating mode.

WATER DRAINAGE ASSEMBLIES FOR AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEMS

A water drainage assembly for an aftertreatment system comprises a first tube structured to be coupled to an outlet conduit of the aftertreatment system and has a first cross-sectional width. A second tube is disposed radially around the first tube. A first end of the second tube is coupled to a radially outer surface of the first tube. A portion of the second tube has a second cross-sectional width larger than the first cross-sectional width such that a volume is defined between the first and second tubes. A drain port is defined in the second tube proximate to the first end. The assembly is structured such that water flowing into the water drainage assembly flows into the volume defined between the first tube and the second tube and is expelled therefrom via the drain port.

The plurality of conduit modules include a tailpipe coupling having a first end receivable and selectively securable to the outer surface of a tailpipe of an automobile, an elbow selectively connectable to the tailpipe coupling, and a riser extension selectively connectable to the elbow. The modular tailpipe riser kit further include a circumferential clamp that is receivable about the tailpipe coupling for selectively securing the tailpipe coupling about the outer surface of the tailpipe. A tailpipe riser that is fully assembled and ready for installation may also be provided.

CONTROLLER AND CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
20200072111 · 2020-03-05 · ·

A controller calculates a predicted value of the exhaust pressure between a catalyst and a filter for a case in which engine fuel containing no manganese is used continuously. Also, the controller calculates a correlation value proportional to the amount of heat received by the catalyst when the catalyst temperature is higher than or equal to the adhesion temperature of manganese oxide. Further, the controller determines that there is a removal requirement for removing manganese oxide from the catalyst when the difference between the predicted value and the detected pressure of the exhaust pressure between the catalyst and the filter is greater than a specified determination value, and the correlation value is greater than or equal to a specified determination value. The controller executes the removal process by performing fuel amount increase control when it is determined that there is a removal requirement.

Valve device for exhaust flow passage

A link couples a support body and a valve body in a first arrangement where a first link-forming member is rotationally movably supported by the support body and in which a second link-forming member is rotationally movably supported by the valve body. The link includes: a link length that is a length of the first link-forming member, as measured between a rotation axis with respect to the support body and a rotation axis with respect to the second link-forming member; and a link length that is a length of the second link-forming member, as measured between a rotation axis with respect to the valve body and a rotation axis with respect to the first link-forming member. The link lengths differ from each other. The link is also configured to enable coupling between the support body and the valve body in a second arrangement inverted with respect to the first arrangement.
