A device for capturing in-port ship exhaust gases is designed to be connected to a ship, when the ship has at least one funnel that serves as an outlet for exhaust gases. The device includes at least one collection device, including a hood designed to connect to the funnel at the exhaust outlet so as to collect the exhaust gases coming out of the funnel, a handling unit designed to move the collection device and position it at the exhaust outlet, a first constraint configured to interconnect or disconnect the collection device and the handling unit by command so as to create a handling configuration in which the collection device and the handling unit are interconnected by the first constraint and can be moved as one, and a collection configuration in which the collection device collects the exhaust gases and the connection achieved by the first constraint is released, and a second constraint configured to exert a magnetic attraction force, by command, intended to put the first constraint into the handling configuration.

Dual function manifold assembly incorporating a detachable catalytic converter
11473483 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A replacement kit for use with a motor vehicle that was originally equipped with an exhaust system including an exhaust manifold and a catalytic converter welded thereto. The replacement kit includes a replacement catalytic converter arranged for use during use of the motor vehicle on public roads. Rather than welding, the replacement catalytic converter attaches to the exhaust manifold using a clamp to form a gas-tight seal. The clamp is arranged to move from the closed position to an open position to enable disengagement of the replacement catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold and substitution of a bypass pipe in place of the replacement catalytic converter to increase performance characteristics of the vehicle during off-road use.

An exhaust assembly includes a first tailpipe having an exit end and a curved portion along at least a portion of a length of the first tailpipe. The exhaust assembly further includes a baffle surrounding the first tailpipe at the exit end and defining a plurality of perforations therethrough. The exhaust assembly further includes a pair of shields. Each shield is attached to and at least partially surrounds each of the baffle and the first tailpipe. Each shield extends from a first end proximal to the exit end of the first tailpipe to a second end distal to the exit end of the first tailpipe. Each shield engages the baffle at the first end and engages the first tailpipe at least at or proximal to the second end. The pair of shields is adapted to allow fluid flow to or from the plurality of perforations of the baffle.

System for a combined spark arrestor and muffler assembly

Systems and methods are provided for a combined spark arrestor and muffler assembly. In one example, a system may include a combined housing, the combined housing including a spark arrestor portion including a plurality of stator fins, and a muffler portion including acoustic packing, the muffler portion fluidically coupled to the spark arrestor portion via a first sliding joint and a second sliding joint. In this way, a single component of a vehicle exhaust system may reduce sparks and/or carbon deposits in exhaust gas, while also reducing exhaust noise.

Vehicle exhaust pipe support assembly

A support assembly for supporting an upright engine exhaust pipe on an exterior wall of a truck cab at a location below an outlet of the exhaust pipe. The support assembly allows limited cab motion relative to the exhaust pipe.

Outboard motors having steerable lower gearcase

An outboard motor has a powerhead that causes rotation of a driveshaft, a steering housing located below the powerhead, wherein the driveshaft extends from the powerhead into the steering housing; and a lower gearcase located below the steering housing and supporting a propeller shaft that is coupled to the driveshaft so that rotation of the driveshaft causes rotation of the propeller shaft. The lower gearcase is steerable about a steering axis with respect to the steering housing and powerhead.

Exhauster assembly for a vehicle

A mounting assembly for a silencer of an exhauster assembly includes a mounting plate. The mounting plate has an opening configured to receive an exhauster of the exhauster assembly while the exhauster is coupled to a structure of a vehicle at least partially separately from the mounting plate. In addition, the mounting plate has a first side configured to face the structure of the vehicle and a second side configured to face the silencer. The mounting assembly also includes at least one exhauster mounting feature configured to couple the mounting plate to the exhauster. Furthermore, the mounting assembly includes a silencer mounting feature configured to couple the silencer to the mounting plate.

The invention presented is a crossover section for a vehicle exhaust system that includes a middle pipe and two outer pipes, each outer pipe in contact with and attached to the middle pipe. Diversion gates extend from the middle pipe into each of the outer pipes to divert a sample of exhaust gas into the middle pipe. A sensor, such as an oxygen sensor, is provided to measure one or more components of the combined exhaust. Also provided is an exhaust system that includes the inventive crossover section and a vehicle that includes one or more of the inventive exhaust systems.

EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT ASSEMBLY

An exhaust gas treatment assembly for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a housing having a circumferential wall and at least one base wall which in an external circumferential region is connected to the circumferential wall.
