Silencer insert, silencer comprising the same and method for manufacturing a silencer insert
A silencer insert (10) for a silencer of an exhaust system includes a first and a second partition wall (11, 12) and a connecting wall (13) arranged therebetween. The first partition wall (11) defines a first plane (E1), the second partition wall (12) defines a second plane (E2), and the connecting wall (13) defines a third plane (E3). At least one of the first partition wall, the second partition wall, and the connecting wall includes at least one perforated area (15). The connecting wall (13) is formed in one piece with the first partition wall (11) and the second partition wall (12). The first plane encloses with the second plane an angle of not more than 60°, the first plane and the second plane being particularly in parallel. A silencer is provided including a housing (1) receiving the silencer insert (10). A method is provided for manufacturing the silencer insert.
Compact Inline Inlet With Integrated Cast Ring
An exhaust gas aftertreatment system for a vehicle includes a cylindrical inner shell, a cylindrical outer shell, an inner end cap, a metal mounting member, and an outer end cap. The inner shell is configured to guide exhaust gas. The outer shell forms a first gap to the inner shell. The inner end cap encloses an open end of the outer shell. The inner end cap includes a first axially-extending lip. The inner end cap is fixed to the inner shell. The outer end cap is fixed to the inner end cap. The outer end cap includes a second axially-extending lip. The outer end cap and the inner end cap cooperate to encapsulate the mounting member. The first axially-extending lip is sandwiched between the outer shell and the second axially-extending lip.
METHOD FOR REPLACING AN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT COMPONENT
The invention relates to a method for replacing an exhaust aftertreatment component of an exhaust aftertreatment system in a vehicle or vessel. The exhaust aftertreatment system is delimited by an outer casing and comprises a first sleeve, which extends in an axial direction and contains a first exhaust aftertreatment component mounted directly in the first sleeve. The method comprises the steps of: removing the first exhaust aftertreatment component from the first sleeve, the first sleeve thereby remaining intact within the outer casing, providing a second exhaust aftertreatment component being mounted in a second sleeve, the second sleeve being configured to fit within the first sleeve, and mounting the second sleeve with the second exhaust aftertreatment component in the first sleeve by inserting the second sleeve into the first sleeve in the axial direction thereof.
HOUSING FOR A SELECTIVE CATALYST REACTOR, A KIT OF PARTS AND A METHOD
The invention relates to a housing for a selective catalyst reactor for processing exhaust gas from a combustion engine of a combined heat and power system. The housing comprises an annular shaped plate structure forming an elongate accommodation wall defining an inner accommodation volume for containing a catalyst to be flown through by the exhaust gas. The annular shaped plate structure includes a set of plate elements having the same or similar geometry and dimensions.
Exhaust unit
One aspect of the present disclosure provides an exhaust unit including a housing, a wall member, a catalyst, and a muffler chamber. The housing includes a feed inlet and a discharge outlet. The housing is configured such that an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine is introduced from the feed inlet, and the exhaust gas is discharged from the discharge outlet. The wall member is disposed in the housing, and forms a cylindrical flow path that guides a flow of the exhaust gas introduced from the feed inlet to curve along an outer circumference of an interior of the housing. The catalyst is disposed in the flow path. The muffler chamber communicates with the flow path in a downstream side of the catalyst in the flow path. The wall member serves as a part of a wall that defines an inside and an outside of the muffler chamber.
INTEGRATED EXHAUST MANIFOLD COOLING JACKET
Systems for an integrated exhaust manifold cylinder head are provided. In one example, an exhaust manifold for a vehicle includes a plurality of exhaust runners coupling a plurality of cylinder exhaust gas outlet ports to an exhaust exit port, the plurality of exhaust runners forming at least a first exhaust passage and a second exhaust passage at the exhaust exit port; an upper cooling jacket positioned vertically above the first exhaust passage; a lower cooling jacket positioned vertically below the second exhaust passage; and a central cooling jacket positioned vertically below the first exhaust passage and vertically above the second passage.
Two-passage exhaust system for an engine
An exhaust system includes a housing comprising a first housing portion and a second housing portion separated by a common wall. The first housing portion has a first exhaust passage therethrough. The first exhaust passage has a first inlet receiving exhaust gasses from a turbocharger. The second housing portion has a second exhaust passage therethrough. The second exhaust passage has a second inlet receiving gasses from an exhaust bypass valve. The first passage and the second passage are non-intersecting within the housing.
IMPROVED AFTER TREATMENT SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
An after treatment system (ATS) module for a vehicle includes, fluidly connected in series, an inlet, a plurality of chemical reaction modules and an urea mixer module. The chemical reaction modules are arranged to define a substantial quadrangular path of a flow of exhaust gases flowing in the ATS module. The urea mixer module is perpendicular to all the plurality of chemical reaction modules. The ATS module also includes deflector means configured to impart a swirling motion to the flow before flow enters in urea mixer module.
INLET CONE AND PLATE ASSEMBLY FOR EXHAUST MODULE
An exhaust system includes a housing having an internal cavity defining an exhaust gas passage extending along an axis, at least one exhaust gas aftertreatment component positioned within the internal cavity, and an inlet cover mounted to the housing to provide an open internal area that is upstream of the internal cavity. The inlet cover has a contoured outer surface that includes an inlet opening and at least one sensor opening that is configured to receive an exhaust gas sensor. An inlet tube is mounted to the inlet cover at the inlet opening. A plate is positioned upstream of the at least one gas aftertreatment component and within the open internal area. The plate has a curved surface with a plurality of openings.
Shielding element
A shielding element, which comprises at least two sections that are embodied to be linearly connected to each other in abutting fashion on at least one contact surface so as to enclose a three-dimensionally shaped profile or pipe segment of an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine over a certain length when in use. In order to modify a shielding element of the above-mentioned type while amplifying its effect with other positive properties, it is proposed for the sections of the shielding element to each comprise at least one electrical heating system, which, in an installed position, is thermally directed at the pipe segment that is to be enclosed.
