System and method of manufacturing a mouth piece
The present invention relates to a system and method of manufacturing a mouth piece by 3D printing a 3D printer readable file encoding the mouth piece, the method comprising steps of: obtaining a scan file comprising physical data representing a user's teeth and gum line using 3D scanner means (100); removing outlier data from physical data in the scan file; generating representative geometrical data of the curvature of the user's teeth and gum line from the physical data; generating a virtual base model representing a mouth piece from the physical data and the representative geometrical data, the virtual base model having customisable dimensions (101); removing selected regions from the mouth piece represented by the virtual base model (102); and from the virtual base model, generating the 3D printer readable file encoding the mouth piece for printing on 3D printing means (103). The present invention provides a computer implemented development environment adapted with user interface means providing an operator with the ability to customise the mouth piece as required.
Wax-based compositions, articles made therefrom, and methods of manufacture and use
Oral treatment devices formed from wax-based compositions that are thermally stable when formed into a three-dimensional shape to a temperature of at least 45° C. and plastically deformable at room temperature (25° C.). The wax-based compositions include a wax fraction homogeneously blended with a polymer fraction. The wax fraction includes at least one wax. The polymer fraction includes at least one polymer selected such that, when the wax and polymer are homogeneously blended together, they yield a wax-based composition having the desired properties of thermal stability and plastic deformability. Oral treatment devices are dimensionally stable to a temperature of at least 40° C. without external support and can be plastically deformed in a user's mouth to become at least partially customized to the size and shape of user's unique dentition and/or an appliance in a user's mouth.
Blockchain
An Internet of Thing (IoT) device includes a camera coupled to a processor; and a wireless transceiver coupled to the processor. Blockchain smart contracts can be used with the device to facilitate secure operation.
EATING ASSISTANCE DEVICE
An eating assistance device includes a curved plate and a handle. The curved plate is sized and configured to be disposed within an oral cavity of a mouth between a cheek and adjacent teeth. The curved plate is sized and configured to follow an exterior contour of the adjacent teeth along a lateral side of the mouth. The curved plate is sized and configured to span a gap between top and bottom teeth of the adjacent teeth when a jaw within the mouth is opened to retain food items within the oral cavity. The curved plate has top and bottom edges that are substantially parallel. The handle extends from the mouth plate and is disposed on an exterior of the mouth when the curved plate is disposed within the oral cavity.
THERMOSENSITIVE MOUTH SHIELD
Provided is a mouth guard having an outer layer and inner layer and a foam insert layer configured to absorb impact forces. The insert layer is softer than and thicker than the outer layer and inner layer to provide increased force absorption. The outer layer includes a thermos-chromic material that changes color and transparency to provide indication of temperature inside of a user's mouth.
Two-way communication system and method of use
The two-way communication system comprises a non-invasive and non-implanted system which remains completely invisible to an outside observer when in use by an operator or user and allows for clear two-way communications. This system is generally comprised of a mouthpiece component, relay component, infrastructure communication device, and an optional system control which may interface with the relay component.
MULTI-PART SENSING ELECTRODE CONNECTOR
A thin form of an electrical connector for creating a detachable connection between two circuit elements is disclosed. When the connector is employed, only an outer electrode present on a portion of the connector is exposed to the ambient environment and the rest of the electronics of both the connector and of a device into which the device is integrated can be insulated from the ambient environment. The parts of the connector can create a small three-dimensional interlock structure to seal off contact area and to facilitate electrical contacts between two circuit elements. The connector structure is flexible, allowing the connector to be embedded into a curved surface of a device that can use the electrode exposed to the environment to obtain data regarding the environment.
TECHNOLOGY ADAPTED TO FACILITATE USER-SPECIFIC CALIBRATION OF INSTRUMENTED MOUTGUARD DEVICES, INCLUDING CALIBRATION METHODS FOR INSTRUMENTED MOUTHGUARD DEVICES
Technology is adapted to facilitate user-specific calibration of instrumented mouthguard devices, including calibration methods for instrumented mouthguard devices. For example, this includes processes by which instrumented mouthguards, which include components such as accelerometer modules that enable monitoring of head movements of a mouthguard wearer, are calibrated for use by specific individuals. While some embodiments will be described herein with particular reference to those applications, it will be appreciated that the present disclosure is not limited to such a field of use, and is applicable in broader contexts.
PREDICTION OF HEAD IMPACT EVENT MECHANISM VIA INSTRUMENTED MOUTHGUARD DEVICES
A method for prediction of a head impact event mechanism via an instrumented mouthguard device comprises receiving, as input, time series data representative of a head impact event, wherein the time series data is derived from the instrumented mouthguard device. The instrumented mouthguard device includes one or more accelerometers. The method further comprises generating an array of spatial coordinates representing points on a computer head model, and processing the time series data to determine a direction of impact and location of impact relative to the computer head model.
ORAL DEVICE CONTAINER AND ORAL DEVICE CONTAINER AND BOTTLE ASSEMBLY
An oral device container and bottle assembly may include a bottle having a bottle connector; and an oral device container. The oral device container may include a base portion having: a base outer wall having an opening; a base inner wall; and an oral device container connector configured to removably connect to the bottle connector. The oral device container may further include a cap portion configured to be mounted to the base portion and to rotate relative to the base portion. The cap portion may have a cap outer wall having an opening; and a cap inner wall that is received within the base inner wall.
