An apparatus for hand protection includes a flexible sheet that extends from a first end to a second end of the flexible sheet along a length thereof. Adhesive material is located on one side of the flexible sheet. A backing layer is on the adhesive material. The flexible sheet includes at least one finger opening closer to the first end than to the second end. The flexible sheet also includes a separation extending from the second and towards the first end. The separation separates the second and into a plurality of anchors. A method enables a flexible sheet with adhesive material thereon to be applied to a person's hands. Fingers are inserted through one or more finger openings. The backing layer is removed. The flexible sheet, including anchors formed by a separation extending from an end of the flexible sheet are adhered around the person's hand.

A glove is provided and includes a cuff providing an opening to the glove. A back panel defines a first portion of finger sheaths and a thumb sheath and extends along the finger sheaths and the thumb sheath to the cuff. A palm panel is disposed on an opposite side of the glove from the back panel and defines a second portion of the finger sheaths and the thumb sheath. The palm panel is formed from a material having a greater coefficient of friction than a material of the back panel and extends along the finger sheaths and the thumb sheath to the cuff. A glove formed from a stretchable material for the purpose of increasing grip strength and protecting and supporting the wearers hand. The glove has a first finger stall, a second finger stall, and a thumb aperture, and is formed from a stretchable material that keeps the fingers in the first finger stall and the second finger stall tightly compressed to protect each from injury, and to increase the strength of two fingers being tightly compressed together. The thumb extends out of the thumb aperture and is free to move independently of the first finger stall and the second finger stall in order to allow the thumb freedom of movement and not be locked together with either of the finger stalls.

An Athletic Glove with an Enhanced Grip and Range of Motion provides for improved play in cold weather conditions. The glove may be comprised of a primary layer of flexible material with a low coefficient of friction and low adhesive properties, and tactile layers with a high coefficient of friction or high adhesive property layer on the front portions of the throwing fingers, whereby an athlete may achieve a natural tactile feel while wearing the glove. For example, a baseball glove may include high coefficient of friction material on the thumb, pointer, and middle fingers while the palm and remaining digits are of a low coefficient of friction material. A baseball glove may additionally include high coefficient of friction material on the inner side of the ring finger where the ring finger contacts the baseball. The athletic glove may also include striations or furrows in the high coefficient of friction areas to improve tactile feel in wet playing conditions.
