REDUCTANT TANK ASSEMBLY WITH MULTIPLE CONNECTION TANK HEADER
An aftertreatment system includes a first dosing module, a second dosing module, and a reductant tank assembly. The reductant tank assembly includes a reductant tank, a header coupled to the reductant tank, and a first splitting device that splits a first flow from the header into a first inlet flow and a second inlet flow. A first inlet line and a second inlet line direct the first inlet flow and the second inlet flow to the first dosing module and the second dosing module. A first outlet line and a second outlet line direct a first outlet flow and a second outlet flow from the first dosing module and the second dosing module to a second splitting device. The second splitting device merges the first outlet flow and the second outlet flow into a second flow and provides the second flow to the header.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MIXING EXHAUST GASES AND REDUCTANT IN AN AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM
A multi-stage mixer includes a multi-stage mixer inlet, a multi-stage mixer outlet, a first flow device, and a second flow device. The multi-stage mixer inlet is configured to receive exhaust gas. The multi-stage mixer outlet is configured to provide the exhaust gas to a catalyst. The first flow device is configured to receive the exhaust gas from the multi-stage mixer inlet and to receive reductant such that the reductant is partially mixed with the exhaust gas within the first flow device. The first flow device includes a plurality of main vanes and a plurality of main vane apertures. The plurality of main vane apertures is interspaced between the plurality of main vanes. The plurality of main vane apertures is configured to receive the exhaust gas and to cooperate with the plurality of main vanes to provide the exhaust gas from the first flow device with a swirl flow.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DECREASING TIME TO REACH LIGHT-OFF TEMPERATURE
A vehicle system includes a diesel oxidation catalyst. The vehicle system includes a hydrocarbon-selective catalytic reduction unit located downstream of the diesel oxidation catalyst. The hydrocarbon-selective catalytic reduction unit is configured to receive exhaust gas from the diesel oxidation catalyst. The vehicle system includes a turbocharger located downstream of the hydrocarbon-selective catalytic reduction unit. The turbocharger is configured to receive exhaust gas from the hydrocarbon-selective catalytic reduction unit.
NON-INTRUSIVE REDUCTANT INJECTOR CLOGGING DETECTION
A computer-implemented method for determining whether a reductant (e.g. urea) injector is clogged is provided. The method includes receiving data indicative of an injector duty cycle and a pump duty cycle. Using a trained machine learning module, at least a first value is calculated, indicative of a probability of the injector being clogged. The method further includes providing, based on the first value, an indication of whether the reductant injector is clogged. A device for providing the indication using the method, a computer program, a reductant injector system, and e.g. a combustion engine including such a reductant injector system are also provided.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOVING RESIDUAL REDUCTANT
A system for removing residual reductant from at least one component of a reductant dosing system associated with an aftertreatment system includes a first container disposed in fluid communication with the reductant dosing system. The system also includes a first conduit for providing fluid communication between the first container and the reductant dosing system. Based on a generation of a vacuum within the first container, the first conduit is operative to remove the residual reductant from the at least one component of the reductant dosing system and introduce the residual reductant into the first container.
PROGNOSTIC ALERT STRATEGY FOR REDUCTANT PUMP IN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM FOR ENGINE
Operating an engine exhaust aftertreatment system includes receiving fluid pressure data of a reductant pump, determining a pump operating state, and comparing a pump health parameter to a prognostic pump failure criterion based upon the determining a pump operating state. Operating an engine exhaust aftertreatment system further includes outputting a pump health alert based upon a difference between the pump health parameter and the prognostic pump failure criterion. Related control logic is also disclosed.
Apparatus having a tank and a delivery unit for reducing agent
An apparatus includes at least one tank having a tank bottom and a delivery unit for a liquid. The delivery unit is disposed in a chamber on the tank bottom and the chamber has at least one heater.
Urea Injection System
A urea injection system comprises a fluid conveying apparatus used for extracting a urea solution from a urea tank, several nozzles indirectly connected to the fluid conveying apparatus, and a controller used for controlling the urea injection system. The urea injection system is adapted to process exhaust gas of a plurality of engines at the same time. The nozzles comprise a first nozzle used for injecting a urea solution to a first exhaust pipe of a first engine and a second nozzle used for injecting the urea solution to a second exhaust pipe of a second engine. A plurality of nozzles respectively corresponding to a plurality of engines is arranged in the urea injection system, so as to process exhaust gas of the plurality of engines at the same time by using only one urea injection system.
Container for a Liquid Operating Medium of a Motor Vehicle and Motor Vehicle with Such a Container
A container is provided for a liquid operating medium of a motor vehicle. The container includes: i) an outer container which forms a container volume; ii) at least one heating device which is designed to thaw frozen operating medium, and iii) a partition which divides the container volume into a proximal region and a distal region. The proximal region is arranged closer to the at least one heating device than the distal region. The partition is designed to let through more operating medium between the proximal region and the distal region in the installation position of the container than in an oblique position of the container.
Pump for metering a liquid additive for a selective catalytic reduction device
A device providing a dosed supply of a liquid includes: a pump configured to deliver the liquid and having a pump housing with an inlet and an outlet; an eccentric on the pump housing; and a deformable diaphragm between the pump housing and the eccentric, the deformable diaphragm and the pump housing delimiting a delivery path from the inlet to the outlet and forming a seal of the delivery path. The seal is displaceable along the delivery path, by a movement of the eccentric, in a delivery direction from the inlet to the outlet to deliver the liquid. The pump is configured such that within the pump a friction torque that must be overcome for the eccentric to move is greater than a maximum pressure torque that can be generated by pressurized liquid in the delivery path, so as to prevent movement of the eccentric counter to the delivery direction.
