A method for estimating a quality of reductant in an engine aftertreatment system for an engine using a virtual sensor, the method comprising: determining whether an enablement condition is met, wherein the enablement condition is one or more of: a reductant fill condition determined based on data received from one or more float sensors associated with the engine; a machine start condition determined based on machine speed data obtained from a speed sensor associated with the engine; and/or a rationality check condition determined based on data associated with a fault of one or more sensors associated with the engine; upon determining that the enablement condition is met, receiving NOx measurement data obtained from at least one NOx sensor; generating a reductant quality value based on the NOx measurement data; and outputting a reductant quality determination based on the reductant quality value.
REGENERATION CONTROL APPARATUS
A regeneration control apparatus for controlling, in an exhaust gas treatment apparatus of a diesel engine including a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) disposed in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and a diesel particulate filter (DPF) disposed downstream of the DOC, execution of forced regeneration to remove an exhaust particulate matter (PM) which accumulates on the DPF through a temperature increase of the DPF, includes: a late-post injection amount determination part which determines a late-post injection amount. The late-post injection amount determination part is configured to determine an upper limit value of the late-post injection amount on the basis of an air excess ratio of exhaust gas flowing into the DOC obtained on the basis of a temperature index of the DOC.
Internal combustion engine control device
To keep medium purification efficiency at a high level and prevent deterioration of emission performance. An aspect of the present invention includes: a downstream equivalence ratio calculation unit that calculates a catalyst downstream exhaust gas equivalence ratio by using a catalyst statistical model that receives at least a detection value of an air-fuel ratio sensor on an upstream side of a catalyst and outputs a catalyst downstream exhaust gas equivalence ratio; an oxygen output calculation unit that calculates an output value of an oxygen sensor by using an oxygen sensor statistical model that receives the catalyst downstream exhaust gas equivalence ratio and outputs an output value of the oxygen sensor on the downstream side of the catalyst; a downstream equivalence ratio correction unit that corrects the catalyst downstream exhaust gas equivalence ratio calculated by the downstream equivalence ratio calculation unit based on a calculation result of the oxygen output calculation unit and the detection value of the oxygen sensor; and an air-fuel ratio control unit that controls an air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture of an internal combustion engine based on the corrected catalyst downstream exhaust gas equivalence ratio and air-fuel ratio target value.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AIR-FUEL RATIO IMBALANCE MONITOR
Methods and systems are provided for an exhaust system. In one example, a method may include determining presence of a zone flow based on a comparison of a first exhaust sensor and a second exhaust sensor. The presence or absence of the zone flow may determine a rate at which an air-fuel ratio is adjusted.
Aftertreatment system
An aftertreatment system for a diesel engine may include a diesel particulate filter configured for placement in fluid communication with the diesel engine to receive an exhaust flow. The system may also include a selective catalytic reduction system configured for arrangement downstream of the diesel particulate filter and a NO.sub.x sensor configured to measure a NO.sub.x concentration in the exhaust flow entering the selective catalytic reduction system. The system may also include a controller configured to estimate a ratio of NO.sub.2 to NO.sub.x downstream of the diesel particulate filter and based on a factor affecting the generation of NO.sub.2 upstream of the selective catalytic reduction system. The controller may also be configured to adjust the measured NO.sub.x concentration based on the ratio to provide an estimated actual NO.sub.x concentration and dose diesel exhaust fuel into the exhaust flow based on the estimated actual NO.sub.x concentration.
Engine aftertreatment recycling apparatus, and system and method using same
A recycling loop configuration of an exhaust gas aftertreatment system decreases a level of system-out NO.sub.x emissions of an engine. An apparatus including the configuration has an exhaust gas recycling system having a closed gas recycling loop system configured to heat gas circulating within the loop, and a blower for circulating gas within the loop. A method for operating the engine includes preheating at least one aftertreatment component of an exhaust gas aftertreatment system of the engine by exposing the component to heated gas circulating in a closed gas recycling loop.
EXHAUST GAS CONTROL APPARATUS AND EXHAUST GAS CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An exhaust gas control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes: a catalyst disposed in an exhaust passage of the engine and configured to be able to occlude oxygen; an air-fuel ratio sensor that detects an air-fuel ratio of an out-flow exhaust gas; and an air-fuel ratio control device that controls an air-fuel ratio of an in-flow exhaust gas to a target air-fuel ratio. The device executes air-fuel ratio reduction control in which the target air-fuel ratio is set to a rich setting air-fuel ratio, and corrects a parameter related to the air-fuel ratio reduction control such that an amount of a reducing gas supplied to the catalyst is decreased when a minimum air-fuel ratio obtained when the detected air-fuel ratio is varied to a rich side is richer than the rich setting air-fuel ratio or an average value of detected air-fuel ratios of the in-flow exhaust gas.
