METHOD FOR DETERMINING A FUNCTIONALITY OF AN EXHAUST GAS SENSOR IN AN EXHAUST GAS SYSTEM OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Determining a functionality of an exhaust gas sensor in an exhaust gas system having a catalytic converter and a first exhaust gas sensor upstream of the catalytic converter and a second exhaust gas sensor downstream of the catalytic converter. The first and the second exhaust gas sensors are heated to a temperature above a minimum operating temperature.; A first sensor signal of the first exhaust gas sensor; and a second sensor signal of the second exhaust gas sensor are determined. The first and the second sensor signals are compared in an operating period in which a temperature of the at least one catalytic converter does not exceed a temperature threshold value; and an operating parameter of the first exhaust gas sensor (121) is determined on the basis the comparison
Exhaust purification system of internal combustion engine
An exhaust purification system comprising an exhaust purification catalyst, a downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor, and a control device performing air-fuel ratio control for controlling an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas and abnormality diagnosis control for diagnosing the downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor. In the air-fuel ratio control, the control device alternately and repeatedly switches the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust purification catalyst between a rich air-fuel ratio and a lean air-fuel ratio. In the abnormality diagnosis control, the control device judges that the downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor has become abnormal when the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is made the rich air-fuel ratio by the air-fuel control and the output air-fuel ratio of the downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor changes from an air-fuel ratio richer than a predetermined lean judged air-fuel ratio to an lean air-fuel ratio.
Method of generating vehicle control data, vehicle control device, and vehicle control system
A method of generating vehicle control data includes: storing, with a storage device, relationship prescription data; operating, with an execution device, an operable portion of an internal combustion engine; acquiring, with the execution device, a detection value from a sensor that detects the state of the vehicle; calculating, with the execution device, a reward; and updating, with the execution device, the relationship prescription data using update mapping determined in advance, the update mapping using the state of the vehicle based on the detection value, an operation amount used to operate the operable portion, and the reward corresponding to the operation as arguments, and returning the relationship prescription data which have been updated such that an expected profit for the reward calculated when the operable portion is operated in accordance with the relationship prescription data increases.
DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE AND SENSOR
There is provided the diagnostic device for a sensor which is arranged in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and detects a particulate matter amount in exhaust, the diagnostic device including a time-rate-of-change calculation unit which calculates a time rate of change of the particulate matter amount detected by the sensor during a period in which a fuel injection amount of the internal combustion engine is equal to or less than a predetermined injection amount threshold, and an abnormality determination unit which determines an abnormality of the sensor based on the time rate of change of the particulate matter amount calculated by the time-rate-of-change calculation unit.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CATALYST HEALTH MONITORING
Methods and systems are provided for continually monitoring a functionality of an exhaust catalyst based on roll-down of a monotonically decreasing catalyst activity parameter representing catalyst storage capacity. Catalyst degradation may be indicated responsive to the estimate of catalyst storage capacity lowering below a threshold. Engine operating parameters may be adjusted based on a current level of catalyst storage capacity.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SENSOR ANALYSIS IN AN EXHAUST GAS AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM
A computer implemented method to performing sensor analysis in an exhaust gas aftertreatment system (EATS) coupled downstream of an internal combustion engine (ICE). The methodology is specifically adapted for determining a scale factor for a NOx sensor that is arranged downstream of a position where an amount of a reductant is injected into exhaust gases from the ICE.
Method and device for monitoring the tank content of a storage tank of an exhaust-gas treatment system
Various embodiments include a method for monitoring the tank content of a storage tank comprising: metering a fluid from the tank into the exhaust gas tract, wherein the fluid has a concentration with respect to a reducing agent; acquiring a current concentration value for the reducing agent; calculating a change in concentration of the reducing agent on the basis of the current concentration value in comparison with a stored concentration value; determining a current operating state of the vehicle to identify an operating state in which refueling cannot be carried out; and carrying out a plausibility check of the calculated change in concentration if the calculated change in concentration exceeds a predetermined threshold value and the operating state is identified. The plausibility check includes acquiring the current tank filling level of the fluid.
Systems, methods and apparatuses for wet stack residue mitigation
An intelligent electronic device (IED) may monitor wet stack residue buildup of a diesel engine. Once the wet stack residue accumulates to a certain amount, the IED may perform a mitigation procedure. Additionally, tracking wet stack residue buildup may allow an IED to attempt to prevent or reduce accumulation of the wet stack residue. The IED may track an operating power level of the diesel engine to estimate the rate of residue buildup.
